Alabama's state Senate passed a bill on Tuesday to outlaw nearly all abortions, creating exceptions only to protect the mother's health, as part of a multistate effort to have the U.S. Supreme Court reconsider a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. The country's strictest abortion bill was previously approved by the Alabama House of Representatives and will now go to Republican Governor Kay Ivey, who has withheld comment on whether she would sign but is generally a strong opponent of abortion. 'Women’s rights are under attack,' wrote House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, in a tweet. 'This relentless and cruel Republican assault on women’s health is designed to force a court battle to destroy Roe v. Wade. Democrats will be ready to defend health care and women’s reproductive freedom.'

The young YouTube star known as 'Soph', a 14-year-old high school freshman from the Bay Area, became the center of debate after a highly critical Buzzfeed article published on Monday. The article highlights a crude video called 'Be Not Afraid,' in which Soph dresses in a chador and explains sarcastically that she has become 'devout follower of the Prophet Muhammad' and laments that she gets 'raped by my 40-year-old husband every so often'. The rest of the 20-minute video goes on to blast internet outrage culture and encourage young people to speak their minds without fear of being offensive.

Thomas J. Summerwill (left) of Campton Hills, Illinois, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the March 24 death of 53-year-old Mary Summerwill (seen right with Thomas in 2015). A Kane County judge on Tuesday set bond at $300,000 for the 21-year-old man. Summerwill, who had just finished his junior year at University of Wisconsin-Madison, was expected to post bail, said his attorney, Liam Dixon. Dixon said Summerwill thought his mother was an intruder in his bedroom when he struck her with a sport memorabilia baseball bat that had been hanging on his wall. Eric (left) and Donald Trump Jr (left inset) slammed Bill de Blasio (right) on Monday after the mayor accused them and their father, President Trump, of ‘evading taxes and stiffing workers for decades.’ Eric Trump was angry with de Blasio over the chaotic news conference that the mayor staged in the lobby of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Monday. Rudy Giuliani, President Trump's lawyer and the former mayor of New York, also attacked de Blasio on Twitter, accusing him of causing quality of life in the city to deteriorate.

A Florida agency is investigating potential animal cruelty charges after Clearwater lawyer Thomas Cope (inset) posted video of himself shooing a raccoon off his boat into the Gulf of Mexico. Cope posted the video (shown at left and right) to Facebook showing the raccoon falling off the boat into the water, as a man's voice can be heard saying, 'So long, sucker.' He later apologized. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a statement that it learned of the video on May 8 and began an investigation and that 'these vile acts of animal cruelty' are intolerable. Anyone with additional information about what happened has been asked to call the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-3922.

Shaman Durek, whose real name is Derek Verrett, 44, touched down in Oslo on Tuesday and was greeted by his ‘twin flame’, Princess Martha Louise, who he is ‘madly in love with’ (left, center and inset). The pair announced their relationship on Instagram on Monday. A friend of the shaman’s tells DailyMail.com that they met when she was one of their clients. Verrett is a Los Angeles-based celebrity favorite who claims to be able to reverse ageing and says he came back from the dead after taking ill. He is the son of an African-Haitian father and Norweigan-Indian mother. Online, he says he first learned he was a shaman when he was two. He has been practising since he was 11 and counts Gwyneth Paltrow and Rosario Dawson among famous fans (right, top and bottom). While he told reporters he was there in Norway to ‘spread love’, he and Martha will embark on a five-city tour this weekend where they will teach paying crowds about shamanic exercises and meditation techniques. Tickets for the event are being sold online for up to $140 each. 

Randy Jason Sullivan, 46, was piloting the de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver owned by Mountain Air Service that collided with a larger de Havilland Otter DHC-3 on Monday afternoon in Ketchikan, Alaska. Sullivan was among the four people killed in the crash, family members confirm. Two people are still missing and ten survived the collision with injuries. According to his mother, Sullivan had been a pilot with Mountain Air since 2012, flying tour groups over the rugged wilderness of Alaska's Inside Passage, a popular cruise ship route.

Former Vice President Joe Biden agreed with a woman on Tuesday who called President Donald Trump an 'illegitimate president' who was elected with the help of Russian President Vladimir Putin..The exchange came about at a house party in Nashua, N.H., when the former vice president was taking questions from the crowd of voters. 'He is an illegitimate president in my mind,' she said of the Trump to applause and cheers from the crowd. 'Would you be my Vice Presidential candidate?,' Biden responded to laughter and cheers. 'Folks look I absolutely agree,' he added.

The world's highest-paid radio host reflects on his 33 years in the industry in his new memoir Howard Stern Comes Again, admitting that he was a 'maniac' early in his career. 'I have so many regrets about guests from that time,' Stern writes in the book, which hit the shelves on Tuesday. 'Possibly my biggest regret was my interview with Robin Williams.' Stern, who is infamous for asking his guests about their sex lives, interviewed the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' actor in the early 90s. Williams had recently divorced his wife of 10 years Valerie Velardi after cheating on her with their infant son Zach's nanny Marsha Garces. He married the mistress in 1989, one year after the divorce, while she was pregnant with their first child. 'I was attacking the guy, and he was justifiably furious with me,' Stern writes.

The president appeared in a buoyant mood ahead of the meeting in Lake Charles with Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, who flashed the playful socks to Trump and the assorted press before the pair shook hands. Makeup blogger James Charles (pictured) has been seen for the first time since his YouTube feud with fellow vlogger Tati Westbrook saw him lose more than three million subscribers on the social media platform in a matter of days. The 19-year-old American star, who was touring Australia to open up a pop-up store on the Gold Coast this week, was pictured sneaking into Brisbane airport on Wednesday surrounded by Virgin Australia cabin crew and security.

The dress, which gathered in pleats across her left shoulder, was strapless on one side, with the beautiful silk fabric flowing to the ground.

The man (center in the left image) allegedly threatened a pedestrian in Tijuana with a knife before fleeing when cops approached him. The chase ended close to the San Isidro border crossing with San Diego, and the incident sparked extensive delays on Monday. Images from the scene show a damaged black Chevrolet with Utah plates close to the crossing.

Wolfgang Wild has always been fascinated with the past, and in 2010 he launched a blog called Retronaut. 'It took off very quickly,' Wild told DailyMail.com. 'One of the posts went viral within the first few weeks. And it grew from there.' After several years and posting thousands of archival images, Wild decided he wanted to turn his attention to color images, and started a new website called the Lost Colour Library. The online collection features images, such as the ones above of 1950s America that show the country from coast to coast: a ferry crossing the river from New York City, inset, to San Francisco, top right, to Chicago, main, to a storefront in Michigan, bottom left.

A tense standoff on Dallas Interstate 635 on Friday ended up with one driver bashing his rival's car with a baseball bat before his own car was rammed from behind, causing his hatchback to spin around and face the heavy oncoming traffic. The incredible footage was captured by another driver on the busy road.

The California will feature a machine that creates artificial waves in the vessel's swimming pool, allowing passengers to grab their boards and ride the swell without having to get in the sea. The 135-meter-long (442ft) boat will also boast its own waterfall as well as a bowling alley and a desalination system to turn seawater into drinking water. The design concept has been created by Norwegian yacht designer Kurt Strand. It also includes a club style lounge area with bar, night club, games room, gym with a Turkish bath, massage studio and a wellness spa.

Firefighter Captain John Nanninga (at left, and inset at bottom) in Texas took in 11-month-old Duran (in his arms, and at right) when his mother, Corterra Payton (inset at top), feared she'd have to spend the night in her car after being turned away from a homeless shelter. Payton said she left her home with her son late on Monday because she feared an argument with her boyfriend would turn violent. In Texas, the Baby Moses Law, also called the Safe Haven Law, designates safe baby sites where parents who are unable to care for their newborns who are 60 days old or younger can take their children, with no questions asks. Payton was grateful the southwest Houston Fire Station 68 was able to help, despite Duran being nearly one year old. Her plan now is for the child to stay with his grandmother and other relatives in Cleveland, while she stays at a shelter for the night and works to get on her feet.

Two gunmen opened fire at diners at a restaurant in the Mexican resort town of Playa del Carmen on Monday night, killing one person and injuring 11 others. The Attorney General's office in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo said the horrifying attack at the Cerveceria Chapultepec was directly connected with a criminal organization that was seeking 'piso', which in English means extortion payments, from a business owner. A cellphone video showed the carnage left by the unknown gunmen, who reportedly got off their motorcycles and unleashed a hail of bullets at 9:45pm local time.

Shocking footage shows the moment a circus performer fell during a daring stunt in Ohio. The Garden Bros. Circus acrobat was taking part in a stunt that required him to maintain balance on top of two wheels rotating in a circle at the Huntington Center in Toledo.Footage recorded by by circus-goer Amber Ledford shows the artist, who has not been named, falling from a large circus wheel which appears to be a few feet away from the ground.He had been standing on top of it and then performed a somersault, attempting to land on top of the wheel. But it appears that he missed a step and then tumbled head-first towards the ground. The crowd reacted in shock and screams can be heard before paramedics rush to the scene to help the acrobat.The fall happened as the wheel rotated closer to the ground and not at its highest point, which could have resulted in more serious injuries for the performer.His partner eventually got down from his own wheel and rushed down a ladder to help him.

A goat and a pony are taking their friendship to a new level by learning to ride on top of each other. Goatie, age one, is working on her strength with best buddy Tiny, the 10-year-old pony, by constantly jumping on the pony's shoulders and attempting to ride him in their home paddock at Bucca Retreat in Bundaberg, Queensland. Campsite operator and owner of the two animals, Jamin Flemming, said: 'They have just learned to stand on top of each other and now they are constantly doing it!'

The incident took place at around 2:45pm near a golf course in Klein, which is about 30 miles north of Houston. The Klein Fire Department said that dirt in the trench buried the man up to his chest. The man is alert and is talking to firefighters during rescue efforts. The man was doing utility work in the area. At one point, he got off a piece of excavating equipment and went into the hole. Officials said the ground near the trench was unstable, causing it to collapse.

Tear-jerking footage shows five-year-old Phoenix take on his belt test at Bobby Dixon's American Martial Arts Academy on May 6 in Orlando. The youngster struggles to break a board with a kick, bursting into tears of frustration after repeated failed attempts. With the support of his fellow students, Phoenix eventually snaps the board in two, sending the room into cheers and applause as his friends rush to hug him.
