Kathie Lee Gifford experienced a Mother's Day weekend celebration she will always remember by announcing her son's engagement to his longtime girlfriend.
The announcement shared on the Kathie Lee's Instagram Sunday showed her 29-year-old son, Cody Gifford, kissing his now-fiance, Erika Brown, while showing off the new ring on her left hand.
'My son is engaged and I couldn't be happier for him and [Erika Brown],' the 65-year-old former Today show co-host wrote in the caption to celebrate the exciting news.

The news was also shared by Kathie Lee's daughter, Cassidy, also shared the happy news on her own Instagram account.

'So excited for what God has in store for these two,' she wrote. 'The most excited to welcome my already sister @missamerikabrown into the craziness.'
Cody and his fiance have been dating for more than six years after they first met while attending college at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
It appears the engagement was a surprise for Erika, though, who shared multiple posts on her Instagram Stories to celebrate the news.
'What started as a fairly normal weekend has turned into the BEST EVER,' she wrote at the time. 'Couldn't be happier!'
'The biggest thank you to everyone for your support,' she added while also including the hashtags '#thebestgiFFt' and '#loveisthegreatestgiFFt.'
The hashtags played off of Cody's last name.
Since the pair graduated from college, Erika has gone on to pursue her passion for acting while Cody works as founder and acting principal of Little Giant Productions. He also produces films.

It appears Erika has grown close with her mother-in-law as she was in attendance at Kathie Lee's last taping of the Today show's Kathie Lee and Hoda. The couple sat front row in the audience while the show celebrated Kathie Lee's decades-long career in TV.
Cody and Cassidy, 25, filmed a tribute video for their mom that aired during the emotional final taping at the beginning of April.
At the beginning of the video, the two children spoke about what it was like to be raised by the talented Kathie Lee. 'To you, mom is a TV legend,' Cody said at the beginning of the video. 'To us, she's a legendary mom.'
'It was a lot like what you would expect,' he continued. 'You're surround by [a] kind, generous, giving, wonderfully talented woman.'
Cassidy was in agreement, saying: 'Her heart, her kindness, it's something that she leads with...most of the time. Not when she is mad at Cody and me.'
Both children also revealed little tidbits of advice they received from their mom throughout her years in the industry. She often advised her children to 'find something you love to do and then figure out how to get paid for it,' Cody said.

The tribute video went on where Cody detailed what it was like once Hoda joined his mom for the fourth hour of the Today show in 2008. 'When Hoda came into our lives, there was this little spark, this little flame, inside our mom,' he said at the time.
Viewers have watched Cody grow up before their eyes as he would often appear by his mother's side for the Today show and different events.
Kathie Lee gave birth to Cody in 1990 with husband Frank Gifford while working on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. She remained on the show until 2000 before leaving to spend more time with her family.
The mother-of-two then returned to everyone's screens by joining the Today show in 2008 for the fourth hour, working alongside Hoda.
Kathie Lee and her two children experienced hardship after Frank passed away in August 2015 at the age of 84 in their Greenwich, Connecticut, home from natural causes. It was later revealed he actually died from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), believed to happen from his days as in the National Football League.
Frank played for the New York Giants for 12 years before retiring and becoming a television sports commentator for 27 years.
The Gifford family decided to donate his brain to research to better help medical professionals come up with solutions to protecting the head when people play contact sports.
It was rumored Kathie Lee was going to retire in 2015 after dealing with the death of her husband, but she remained on morning TV until April 2019.
She appears to be taking her retirement from morning TV in stride as Kathie Lee has been pictured spending more time with her children in California.
Now the family with have the upcoming nuptials to get excited about as Cody and Erika decide what they want to do for their wedding.
