As they made their way through a bright green park, Katie wore black parachute pants with a black and white striped top.

She paired the relaxed fit with Gucci loafers and carried her belongings in a large brown purse.

The Dawson's Creek star pulled her brown hair back and wore sunglasses for the outing.

Invest in a pair of classic black loafers like Katie

Katie Holmes epitomizes East Coast cool as she was seen out and about in New York over the weekend. Sure, women are flashy on the West Coast, but ladies on the right coast (as opposed to the left) tend to achieve a more understated kind of chic. And, we're talking sartorially, of course.

Katie is the perfect case in point. The actress was spotted by the paps with her daughter with an oversized leather tote, a pair of balloon pants and these classics, Gucci convertible black loafers. These are the perfect New York shoes. First, they're made of a soft leather that will mold to your feet. Second, they feature a heel that can bend inward to become a mule. Perfect for long days on your feet. If you've got $730 to throw around, invest in these loafers by clicking right to visit Nordstrom.
