Former Vice President Joe Biden relaunched his presidential campaign Saturday in Philadelphia, promising to outwork his opponents and check Donald Trump on his divisive politics.
He said his campaign would not be about 'hate' and 'anger,' and he would take a 'different path' in the speech that focused heavily on contrasting himself with Trump.
Biden said the Republican leads 'with a clenched first, a closed hand, a hard heart' and pushes 'alternative facts' about his economic record, which he said Trump inherited from the previous administration.
'Just like he inherited everything else in his life. Just like everything else he's been given in his life, he's in the process of squandering that as well,' he accused.
Calling it the 'Obama-Biden' economy, the former vice president linked himself to the two-term president who promoted him out of the United States Senate.
'Barack Obama was an extraordinary man,' he said in one of several references to the former running mate. 'He was a great president, and I was proud to serve as his vice president.'

He has selected Philadelphia for his official campaign headquarters, in an effort to emphasize his appeal to the common man after the more than three decades he spent in Washington.
Opening up his rally, Biden said, 'This campaign is just getting started.'
Jill Biden spoke first, highlighting her connection to the city as she introduced her husband.
'No matter where I go and where I am, I will always be a Philly girl,' she said.
She said the this is her husband's 'moment' and the entire Biden family supports him.
'We are starting an enormous journey today. The Biden family is ready,' she assured the crowd.
As she worked the audience after the event, she told DailyMail.com, 'Oh my gosh, I'm so excited.'
