It appears there are problems with the six-episode Beverly Hills, 90210 revival, as showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has quit the show, along with a series of senior writers on the highly-anticipated series.

The reboot, which is titled BH90210 and will begin airing on Fox this summer, brings back the show's principal players: Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering.

Multiple sources told Variety that the resignations were linked to creative interference, as one said that two of the main actresses on the series had been meddling with the creative side while another source attributed it to a network executive.

Doherty had a reputation for being a diva when the show was in its first incarnation.

But the actress seemed to mellow after she wed Kurt Iswarienko in 2011.

Since 2015 she has been battling breast cancer. In February the star told Health magazine she was in remission.

Spelling and Garth get along well and have worked together several times  since they first met.

Their credits include the new 90210 with AnnaLynne McCord and Mystery Girls.

Though Tori's financial problems have become headline news, she has not had a reputation for being difficult on set, nor has Garth.

Carteris is known for being easy to get along with. She is so popular in Hollywood she has become the president of SAG-AFTRA.

As far as how BH90210 will move forward, writer Paul Sciarrotta and creators Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler will absorb the showrunning duties, according to the outlet.

Insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that more writers have been hired amid the resignations.

The show began with twins Brenda and Brandon - played by Doherty and Priestley - moving from Minneapolis to Beverly Hills.

They stand out at West Beverly Hills High School and manage to make friends with some of the more popular, wealthy kids that show them the ropes.
