Lamar Odom shows his fun-loving personality and stops to give props to a delivery man on his route in LA

Former NBA champion Lamar Odom's new memoir, Darkness To Light, is set to drop May 28.

With the release date right around the corner, the 39-year-old showed his fun-loving personality that endeared him to fans of ex-wife Khloe Kardashian's reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

During a stroll in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles on Friday, Odom stopped to show a little love to a passing Amazon delivery man.

The former LA Laker star was casually walking down a sidewalk in a grey sweatsuit and black slips, when the man took notice of him.

Being fan friendly, he briefly stopped, said hello, and gave him a manly handshake.

It appears he made the delivery man's day, judging from the big beaming smile on his face.

After the brief embrace, both men then headed on their way.

Odom looked to be healthy and in great spirits.

That's a far cry from when he had a near-fatal drug overdose at a brothel in rural Nevada back in October of 2015.

He details the harrowing and humbling experience in his new tell-all book -- Darkness To Light.

The New York native credits Khloe with helping him through the overdose that left him in a coma after suffering 12 strokes and six heart attacks.

He also admits to being a sex addict and sleeping with more than 2,000 women, which includes affairs and flings during his seven-year marriage to Khloe.

'I was shocked and embarrassed, he told People. 'I wanted to take it back, but you can't. [I] wanted to hide it. But that sick sin was hard for me to hide … I had a problem.'

The former couple were married from 2009 to 2016.

Odom last played in the NBA during the 2012-13 season with the Los Angeles Clippers. He also starred with the Lakers, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks during his career.
