Hollywood actress Elsa Pataky is known for her love of nature. 

And on Friday, the Byron Bay local showed her passion for the environment by planting a coral garden in Fiji with her daughter, India Rose, 7.

The Pacific Island paradise turned to coral gardening in an attempt to save and revive its lucrative and vibrant coral reefs from bleaching.

The 42-year-old wife of Australian actor Chris Hemsworth donated her time to the cause, and shared the experience on Instagram. 

The Fast and the Furious actress first spoke in her native Spanish, while waist deep in the ocean tying coral to string. 

'Tying fragments of corals in [on] a rope. Taking back to the ocean to let them grow,' Elsa wrote under the video.

She wore a plunging black one piece and a hat as she spoke to the camera.

She continued: 'Months later we will replant them on rocks. Every small action counts.'

Else was then spotted helping her daughter tie coral to a piece of rope.

She wrote of their special mother-daughter trip: 'It's a great thing to teach our kids. We can still save our oceans.' 

Elsewhere, Elsa was spotted gliding through the ocean in snorkeling gear, taking the coral out to the sea garden, where it will be cultivated.

Elsa traveled to Fiji as part of the Blue Oceans project by luxury brand La Mer, which supports local marine beautification projects.  

The Tidelands star has been documenting her trip with daughter India Rose with photos and short clips on social media. 

Highlighting her love of the ocean, Elsa said she was grateful to learn more about how to protect the ocean through her experience coral gardening.

Madrid-born Elsa now lives close by to the ocean, with her and superstar husband Chris Hemsworth live in the quaint beach-side town of Byron Bay. 

Elsa and the Thor actor have three children.
