The Italian designer behind Lady Gabriella Windsor's stunning dress has spoken about the fascinating process involved in designing the bespoke gowns.
Luisa Beccaria, who created two custom-made dresses - one for the ceremony at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Saturday and another for the evening reception - spoke to Glamour just days before the wedding.
Admitting that it was tricky to make sure they adhered to all of the Queen's rules, Luisa revealed how Gabriella, 38, who is 52nd in line to the succession of the British throne, initially didn't want to wear white.
Gabriella, who married financier Thomas Kingston, then settled on having blush thread sewn into the train to match her grandmother Princess Marina's multi-million pound tiara.

The bride turned to designer Luisa Beccaria to create a custom lace gown for the big day. The dress is made using entirely Valencienne écru lace layered with ribbons of flowers and buds, finished off beautifully with a six-metre long veil. Designs for the dress began back in January of this year, so it's been months in the making!

Speaking about the design, Luisa said: 'It could be a nightmare! All these things with the queen, this is allowed, this isn't allowed. But it's beautiful, she is a sweetheart. I liked her from the first moment I saw her'.
Discussing how Gabriella - who Luisa calls her favourite 'modern' royal - decided on her 'regal but figure-hugging' dress, Luisa continued: 'At the very beginning she was thinking of colour as she wasn't sure she wanted to wear white.
'We were looking at something quite alternative but when Windsor was confirmed she knew she wanted white and respect the tradition whilst trying to be herself.'

She added: 'We found out she was going to wear Princess Marina of Greece's (her grandmother) - tiara and looking at those photos, we took inspiration from that and that heavily influenced the train. She wanted a blush colour underneath the white.'
Luisa revealed that she has been close to the family for a while, discussing how she was on holiday in Sicily last summer with Gabriella's mother, Princess Michael of Kent, when she heard of the engagement news.
Explaining that Gabriella knew exactly what kind of dress she wanted, Luisa added that she knew the wedding would be 'totally different from that of Meghan and Eugenie's'.
Luisa also explained that the new wedding dress trend is 'dreamy and fairytale', and not 'overdone like Princess Diana's'.
Describing the bride as a simple soul who was 'playing the role of princess for one day', Luisa revealed how they settled on the more 'sexy, open-back lace dress' for the evening.
Sharing her wedding tips for the current trends, Luisa advised brides to opt for dresses that 'fit like a second skin', and an evening dress that 'gives the opportunity to translate yourself in a different way'.
