Aran Katarina Kirschenmann, the American girlfriend of Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen's son, Bergur, is being kicked out of the country due to the country's stringent immigration laws. Bergur will be forced to take a temporary split from his Harvard-educated girlfriend, who has to leave the country by the end of the month. The 22-year-old social media star is too young to seek residence under Danish immigration laws. Because Kirschenmann is under the age of 24, she's not eligible to remain in Denmark following the 2002 passage of a law that was intended to end the automatic right of entry of a spouse. Kirschenmann has been living in Denmark as part of her Harvard University studies.

NEW A vegan firefighter has claimed that his human rights were violated when he wasn't given enough suitable food while fighting a huge wildfire in Canada over a 10-day period.  Adam Knauff, of Ontario, was one of 1,000 firefighters who worked up to 16 hours a day helping to battle a huge forest fire in northern British Columbia back in July 2017.  The 40-year-old, who filed a complaint on Tuesday with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario regarding his treatment, was eventually suspended after he blew up at kitchen staff over the lack of vegan food. Despite working non-stop for 16 hours a day for a 10 day stretch, Knauff said he was given 'inadequate' options for vegan food and was forced to go hungry. He claims his only source of protein for one meal was a 'single black bean'.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 29, discussed community gardens which were inclusive and allowed people to grow their native foods as she broadcast live on Instagram from New York. The firebrand Democrat spoke of how such gardens were a 'core component' of her proposed Green New Deal. She said: 'What I love too is growing plants that are culturally familiar to the community. It's so important.' And added, 'It's an area that we get the most pushback on because people say, "Why do you need to do that? That's too hard." But when you really think about it, when someone says that it's "too hard" to do a green space that grows Yucca instead of, I don't know, cauliflower or something - what you're doing is you're taking a colonial approach to environmentalism.'

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson found himself in a dessert disaster during a congressional hearing on Tuesday when he mistook an 'REO' - a Real Estate Owned foreclosure - for an Oreo cookie. Carson, a world-renowned pediatric surgeon before he ran for president in 2016 and accepted a Trump administration job, faced questions before the House Financial Services Committee. California Democratic Rep. Katie Porter (right) asked him if he knew what an REO is. 'An Oreo?' he responded. 'No not an Oreo. An R.E.O.,' Porter lectured.

Coralynn Sobolik, who was 22 months old, was kissed goodbye by her mother, Meagan Sobolik, 29, who says, 'I'll love you forever'. In the tear-jerking video, doctors and nurses line the corridors to honour Coralynn while singing Amazing Grace. Coralynn, of New Hampton, Iowa, had been declared brain dead just one day earlier after a brief five-day battle with parainfluenza. Complications from the illness meant she suffered cardiac arrest three times before being declared brain dead. Three people will be saved by Coralynn, whose life support was turned off on April 22 before she donated her heart, liver and kidneys. Michael Haim (left), 52, of Florida, has been sentenced to life in prison for the 1993 murder of his wife - five years after his son discovered her skull in the backyard of his childhood home. Haim was convicted last month of second-degree murder. He will live out the rest of his life in prison for the gruesome slaying of his 23-year-old wife Bonnie Haim (top right, with their son), who would have turned 50 years old on Monday. Their son, Aaron Fraser (bottom right), helped implicate him in the murder after he moved back home in 2014 where he and his brother-in-law found the remains of his mother's body. Fraser was three years old when his mother disappeared. At the time, Fraser tried to tell police that his 'daddy hurt mommy', but no one believed him and no physical evidence tied his father to the crime. Haim had maintained that he was not involved with his wife's death. During his trial he even testified: 'I love my wife, and I would've never hurt my wife.' Following the sentence on Tuesday, Bonnie's sister, Liz Peak, said: 'For 26 years, we wanted justice. And now we have it. We got justice. But we don't have Bonnie.' 

Lauren Accurso, 37, (pictured inset with husband Matthew) died in labor on April 29 in Jacksonville, Florida with her fourth child Matthew Jr. from an 'unpreventable and very rare medical emergency.' Although Matthew Jr. survived, his father Matthew Accurso Sr., said his son suffered 'significant brain injury due to a prolonged period without oxygen during his birth.' Accurso Sr said baby Matthew was taken off life support on Tuesday last week after 18 days of intensive treatment in the NICU at Wolfson Children's Hospital. Main: Matthew Sr with baby Matthew.

Sebastian Spencer won the 4 x 100m relay at the athletics meeting in West Virginia on Saturday despite taking the baton in seventh place. Footage from the televised event shows Sebastian blazing past each of his rivals, before crossing the finishing line several seconds ahead of the second place runner. It was the highlight of a hugely successful day for Sebastian who won each of his four races.

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: The film was taken in 1941 by Alfons Ziolkowski, an amateur Polish filmmaker, and is the only known footage of the Warsaw Ghetto not recorded by Nazis. Ziolkowski, a racing driver before the war started, managed to obtain a pass to enter the ghetto at a time when it was closed to the outside world and captured the lives of its inhabitants. The video shows what appear to be new arrivals clutching suitcases, children smuggling food, and guards dishing out beatings. The film laid in storage for decades before being uncovered by Eric Bednarski, who included it in a new documentary.

The news was revealed on Tuesday. The charge normally carries up to 25 years in prison. As the trial wrapped for the day, Junior's mother Leandra Guzman (bottom inset) made her way home but was accosted by a pregnant woman speaking Spanish.

Residents of the expensive California neighborhood where Google has its global headquarters have voted to ban trailers from parking overnight on public streets after a camp of permanent residences has built up due to soaring housing costs. The decision to get rid of the unsightly RVs (pictured) came in a March city council vote after complaints of sewage spilling from the mobile homes and into the roads around the Googleplex campus (inset). Many in the meeting blamed the Google effect for forcing long-term residents out of their homes and in turn creating the housing crisis that has seen some get in trouble for discharging 'domestic sewage on the public right of way'.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT - The NYPD is asking for the public's help identifying the suspects, victim as well as the time and location of a brutal attack on a New York City subway train. The 'heinous' attack was all caught on camera and posted to social media where it eventually drew the attention of cops. The NYPD released the video on its Twitter account on Tuesday in the hope the public may come forward. The victim was repeatedly kicked in the face, head and body as he sat on the train and looked to have been beaten so viciously, he was unable to defend himself. 

NEW NYPD officer Valerie Cincinelli, 34, (left) was snared at her Long Island home after her boyfriend told police she had given him $7,000 to hire a hit man to kill her estranged husband Isaiah Carvalho (right). Authorities informed Carvalho, 32, last week that the mother of his five-year-old son, a 12 year veteran of the force, had been plotting to kill him since February, court records state. He was taken to a secret location and asked to pose hunched over in a car with broken glass scattered over him so they could dupe Cincinelli into thinking her hitman had been successful. Carvalho described the moment he was informed: 'They told me, "We don't know how to tell you this, but your wife put a hit out on you."

The rare pictures that were taken around the turn of the 19th century in the state of Colorado show 'soiled doves', girls in white dresses who came to boom towns such as Denver to keep the working men company. The first auction, set for Sunday, will seek bids for 82 vehicles with a total starting price of around $1.5 million, Ricardo Rodriguez, head of the newly created Institute to Return Stolen Goods to the People, said at a news conference. Ahead of the auction, the cars were on display at the Los Pinos presidential mansion, which leftwing anti-corruption President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has refused to occupy as part of his vow of personal austerity while in office. 'The government used to be like a reverse Robin Hood, they stole from the people and gave to the rich,' said Rodriguez. 'But not anymore: now we're going to give back to the people, transparently. It's an honour to be able to participate.' 'We want this to turn into public works, hospitals, things that benefit marginalised areas of the country,' he said. The proceeds will go to two municipalities in the southern state of Oaxaca, which Lopez Obrador said are among the poorest in the country.

The female surprised the other animal at a waterhole, leaping on its back trying to sink her teeth into the beast's flesh and enlisting help from another lioness during the struggle in Botswana. After a two-minute struggle the wildebeest was taken down, and the lioness fed the animal's carcass to her three hungry male cubs. The pictures were taken by Sue Morris, a photographer from Hampshire in the UK, during a safari trip at Nxai Pan National Park in the southern African nation.

Luu Vailuu, 23, works as a ramp agent for Hawaiian Airlines at Daniel K. Inouye international airport in Honolulu, but dreams of being a back-up dancer. During his shifts Vailuu often practices his dance routines on the tarmac - to the delight of passengers waiting to take-off. Last week a video of him racked up over 500,000 views on Twitter and led to calls for him to appear on the Ellen DeGeneres show and Ru Paul's Drag Race.

Ella, an American high schooler, is obsessed with Captain Marvel and Brie Larson. For her senior prom, she wore a red dress with Captain Marvel touches in her corsage, her rings, and her manicure. Her date dressed as Captain America and she said her friends went as superheroes, too. Ella shared images of their looks on Twitter, where her tweet has earned 4,300 likes and counting.

Steve Biro, 53, was shooting photos at the at a nature conservation area when an eagle named Bruce was brought out. 'I was so excited when they brought Bruce out as the water was fairly calm and I knew I might get a decent reflection,' says Steve, from Windsor, Canada. 'I love getting reflections from a low vantage point and hoped to get a couple of decent pics of Bruce. 'He flew across the pond several times,' said Steve. 'He was flying close enough to my head to feel the breeze from his wings but I was determined to keep shooting.'

A boy in China has cheated death after falling from a balcony 23 storeys up while playing with his friend. The child landed on an outdoor air conditioning unit four levels below and survived the ordeal without serious injuries. The boy was playing at his neighbour's home when he fell into a ventilation shaft Monday night in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Ankit Vengurlekar, from Mumbai, India, was staying at the Studio M Hotel in Sinagpore when he made the incredible discovery earlier this month. The podcaster decided to film the technology in action - and was very impressed with the results. In the clip, Mr Vengurlekar places peppers, onions and ham into a small strainer before pressing the 'omelette' button. The robot then springs into action, pouring oil into a pan before tipping in the ingredients the tourist chose. It leaves the food to fry briefly before tipping in a pre-prepared egg mixture and using a spatula on the mixture before flipping the omelette over, leaving it a 'nice golden brown'. Autonomous Service Chef Robot, or AUSCA, debuted in November 2017 and has delighted and amused visitors to the hotel ever since.

The clip shot in Shenyang City, China, shows a British Shorthair cat sitting on a bedroom floor while licking her paw and using it to wipe her face. Her two kittens who are sitting in a line facing their mum then begin to copy her by rubbing their ears with both paws. At several points during the 30-second clip the mother pauses grooming and looks at the camera - and every time she does so her kittens stop licking themselves too.

A waitress at a restaurant in China suffered burns to her face after a large pot of boiling soup exploded when she tried to fish out a lighter a customer had dropped. A customer at the Haidilao restaurant in Kunming, Yunnan accidentally dropped his lighter into the hot pot, a traditional Chinese meal which involves cooking pieces of meat and other ingredients in a large pot of soup stock at the table. Footage of the terrifying accident shows the server attempting to retrieve the lighter with ladles when the scalding liquid burst out and splashed on to the waitress and the diners. They were taken to hospital for treatment.
