Iman Bowie makes a rare appearance as she dresses in head-to-toe black for a casual walk in New York

Iman Bowie was seen enjoying a stroll around her New York neighbourhood on Tuesday.

The model, 63, was almost recognisable in her casual outfit as she headed out in Soho.

The outing comes a month after the star marked what would have been her 27th wedding anniversary with late husband David Bowie.

Iman kept casual in a loose black sweater and trousers, teamed with trainers for her outing.

Keeping her hood up for the rare appearance, she added shades while carrying a bag of shopping.

On April 24 the model paid tribute to musician David on what would have been their anniversary.

Taking to her Instagram page, where she regularly shares inspirational quotes and updates about her life, Iman wrote: 'April 24th Forever Love.#BowieForever.'

The couple married on April 24, 1992 in a private ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The union was solemnised in Florence, Italy, on June 6 that year. They welcomed their daughter Alexandria, known as Lexi, in 2000.

Bowie died in 2016 aged 69 following a battle with cancer.

Speaking to NET-A-PORTER's digital magazine PorterEdit last year in a rare interview, Iman opened up on her loss, explaining:  'I get the fans' grief, but it's not the same. They have lost someone they look up to; we have lost a husband and a father.'

'I will never remarry,' she added of the potential for future romance. 'I mentioned my husband the other day with someone, and they said to me: "You mean your late husband?" I said, no, he is always going to be my husband.'

'I do feel very lonely. But do I want a relationship? I can't say never, but no, not now.'

After retiring from modelling in 1989, the multi-talented star founded Iman Cosmetics, now a $25 million-a-year business, based on makeup for non-Caucasian women.
