Brexit: Theresa May's Cabinet deserts her over Brexit Bill

Eurosceptics Andrea Leadsom, Liz Truss and Liam Fox snubbed Mrs May and chose not to sit next to her on the front bench of the Commons during Prime Minister's Questions. MailOnline can reveal members of the so-called 'pizza club' of Tory Brexiteers were instead meeting to discuss the devastating fallout from the PM's speech where she promised MPs a vote on a second referendum. Their summit is a major snub to Mrs May, whose closest allies are even calling on her to pull the proposed Brexit vote in early June and resign. The PM faced Parliament this afternoon as the Conservatives slumped to just seven per cent in a new European elections opinion poll - an astonishing 30 points behind Nigel Farage's Brexit Party. Former Children's Minister Tim Loughton today tweeted a picture of his letter to Tory 1922 committee chairman Sir Graham Brady calling for Mrs May to be sacked ahead of a 4pm meeting where backbenchers will call for a rule change to hold an immediate confidence vote in her leadership. The group's executive secretary Nigel Evans said: 'She has U-turned on absolutely everything. We cannot put up with this any longer' and another senior backbencher told MailOnline: 'She needs to go and she needs to go soon - this week or next.'

Jamie Oliver's restaurant empire lost £29m in one year - £5m more than it made in a DECADE

Jamie Oliver's restaurant empire was never financially successful and 'should have hit the panic alarm years ago', a high street expert has said, after figures analysed by MailOnline reveal the firm lost more in a single year than it ever made. The £29million loss in 2017 comes to light as it emerged banks and suppliers could pursue the wealthy celebrity chef (pictured bottom left with wife Jools) personally, for debts built up by his now-defunct chain. The firm lost a net total of £15m in its lifetime to 2017, despite turning over in excess of three-quarters of a billion pounds.

Complications from the illness meant she suffered cardiac arrest three times before being declared brain dead. Welsh estate left to rot where more than 100 derelict homes lie empty

These shocking photographs show an entire housing estate was left to rot with more than 100 derelict homes lying empty and vandalised like a scene from a post-apocalyptic film. The two crumbling streets in Merthyr Vale in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, have been looted by metal thieves, are strewn with litter and scrawled in graffiti that reads 'keep out of hell'. The former residents were turfed out in 2018 - leaving many personal belongings in their wake - when the 112 houses were earmarked for demolition after a series of devastating floods in 2008. But eerie photos captured by Shaun Ashton, 28, show the area where the once tight-knit community lived is still boarded-up and abandoned despite 1,290 people in desperate need of social housing in the area.

JANET STREET-PORTER: What did Jamie Oliver expect to happen

JANET STREET-PORTER: Jamie Oliver (pictured right) says he's 'devastated' by the closure of dozens of his Italian restaurants. Over 1,000 workers (group pictured outside Jamie's Italian in Piccadilly today, inset) have lost their jobs without any warning - I don't imagine that they had much of a 'pukka' day either. This latest example of rampart egomania bringing down a celebrity chef has seen Jamie Oliver - the most famous cook in the world - face the unpalatable truth; diners don't love the cheeky chap from Essex as much as he imagined. Our hot love affair hasn't just cooled, it's the leftover lasagne at the back of the freezer.

Jamie Oliver has sold 40million books, never seems to be off our TV screens and is surely the most famous chef in the UK yet more than 1,000 staff are to lose their jobs.

Food critics and UK industry experts claim the overpriced, mid-range meals on offer at Jamie Oliver's four High Street restaurants were a recipe for disaster.

Bizarre moment Tory Brexiteer is abused by a BREXIT supporter: Furious Leave campaigner shouts 'snowflake' and 'traitor' at MP during TV interview as he admits he voted for May's deal

Monmouth MP David TC Davies was trying to do an interview with the BBC (pictured) when a woman with a microphone and loudspeaker approached the crew and began filming them. In the footage, the woman has no idea who he is and asks if he is a 'remoaner' before calling him a 'traitor' when he tells her he is pro-Brexit but voted for Theresa May's deal. She also accuses him of acting like a 'snowflake' when he criticised her actions while he spoke to BBC Wales about a rise in abuse against MPs.

Stand by! Man the braces! Look lively there! The Prime Minister is giving her tattered Brexit deal one final try. That same unloved bill that's already suffered a hat-trick of defeats in the Commons.

In a desperate last throw of the dice, yesterday Theresa May announced several measures which appear to run counter to the Brexit strategy she has developed over the past couple of years.

European elections: Farage says Brexit Party's success will topple May and Corbyn

Nigel Farage told a crowd of about 3,000 (pictured, bottom, queueing to see him speak) at Kensington Olympia, west London, that both Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn would face the axe after the European elections. Mr Farage also called Mrs May's premiership a 'slow-motion betrayal' and said she had dragged the country through a 'constant abject humiliation'. Supporters queued for more than two hours as they waited for Mr Farage to appear, waving blue flags. Mr Farage came on stage to soft rock and the crowd rose to their feet, holding their phones aloft. When party chairman Richard Tice called, 'What do we want?' the crowd would shout 'Brexit'.

Insensitive tourists are ruining Easter Island, archaeologist says

Archaeologist Jo Anne Van Tilburg (inset) has been conducting research on Easter Island - or Rapa Nui - for nearly 40 years. She said local resources such as waster are straining under a massive influx of tourism - which saw some 150,000 people visit the island of 5,700 residents last year, mostly to visit the famous carved statues known as moai. But she said the behaviour of some of the tourists on the Chilean island is even more worrying. People 'climb on the moai, trample preserved spaces and sit on top of graves' and only seem interested in taking the perfect selfie, rather than the people or history of the island, Van Tilburg said.

Wildebeest tries to shake off lioness but is no match for the killer

The female surprised the other animal at a waterhole, leaping on its back trying to sink her teeth into the beast's flesh and enlisting help from another lioness during the struggle in Botswana. After a two-minute struggle the wildebeest was taken down, and the lioness fed the animal's carcass to her three hungry male cubs. The pictures were taken by Sue Morris, a photographer from Hampshire in the UK, during a safari trip at Nxai Pan National Park in the southern African nation.

Mexico's left-wing leader uses presidential mansion for public auction of 82 seized cars

The first auction, set for Sunday, will seek bids for 82 vehicles with a total starting price of around $1.5 million, Ricardo Rodriguez, head of the newly created Institute to Return Stolen Goods to the People, said at a news conference. Ahead of the auction, the cars were on display at the Los Pinos presidential mansion, which leftwing anti-corruption President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has refused to occupy as part of his vow of personal austerity while in office. 'The government used to be like a reverse Robin Hood, they stole from the people and gave to the rich,' said Rodriguez. 'But not anymore: now we're going to give back to the people, transparently. It's an honour to be able to participate.' 'We want this to turn into public works, hospitals, things that benefit marginalised areas of the country,' he said. The proceeds will go to two municipalities in the southern state of Oaxaca, which Lopez Obrador said are among the poorest in the country.
