Game Of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie correctly predicted who would take the Iron Throne TWO years ago... but her co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau argued it 'didn't make sense'

  • WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR S8 EP8

Game Of Thrones finally revealed the new ruler of the six kingdoms during the last instalment of the hit HBO show following years of predictions on Monday.

But it has now come to light that one of the key members of the cast correctly predicted the king of Westeros years before his fate was revealed to fans.

Gwendoline Christie, who plays Ser Brienne of Tarth in the fantasy drama, accurately guessed during an interview with Extra that Bran would be crowned king.

Gwendoline and her co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays her on-screen love interest Jamie Lannister, were quizzed on who they believed would take the throne.

Nikolaj revealed that he thought Mother Of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen would be become queen, or alternatively the show's late villain the Night King.

In response to his predictions, Gwendoline surmised: 'But don't you think it's going to be someone out of left field?

'Don't you think those two are the obvious choices, and what we know about the show is that it constantly surprises you, so I'm wondering if it might be Bran.

The actress supported her guess with evidence, claiming that she believed it could be Bran because we kept seeing the world from his perspective and baring witness to his visions.

However Nicolaj wasn't convinced by her prediction and interjected: 'The three eyed raven as the king? That doesn't make sense, he's already seeing the future and planning the future and the past.'

Thinking out of the box, Gwendoline hinted that maybe we were watching the show from an alternate timeline, she said: 'How do you know we're in the present at the moment, we might be seeing the past, we don't know if its in chronological order.'

Appearing to come around Nicolaj said to Gwendoline: 'If this is real then he also told Jamie to push him out of the window', referring to the scene in the first ever episode when he pushes Bran out of the window of a tower, when he catches his incestuous liaison with his sister Cersei.

The final series shared a moment between Bran and Jamie, where Jamie finally had the chance to apologise to Bran for his actions, however Bran told him the apology wasn't necessary.
