Don Jr. – the book: News that first son has inked a publishing deal prompts flood of sneering title suggestions online – and even a tease from Ivanka

  • The president's eldest son has signed a book deal to include his views on politics and his father's political movement
  • The title and the terms of the deal for Don Jr., a divorced father-of-five, have not been revealed
  • He has been warming up crowd's before Trump MAGA rallies while his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle joined a pro-Trump super PAC
  • Page Six reports he wants to run for mayor in heavily-Democratic New York

Donald Trump Jr. has reached a deal to write a book about political themes, and some of his online critics are lining up to skewer him with suggested titles.

Even sister Ivanka Trump got in on the act, blasting out a mock threat: ' When #DonJrBookTitles is trending on Twitter... @EricTrump @LaraLeaTrump @TiffanyATrump @kimguilfoyle and I are having some fun with this one!' she wrote, including an emoji of a face with its tongue out.

The president's daughter didn't come out with her own suggested title, but plenty of other Twitter users did.

'I love it': The Complete Idiot's Guide to Collusion,' wrote Twitter user 'NotaRaja.'

'Crime and No Punishment,' suggested Susan Wood.

'Unfortunate Son' suggested political consultant Rick Wilson.

'Lord of the Lies,' wrote Twitter user @swrobles, whose name is identified as 'Sheryl - get trump's taxes!'

Twitter user John Pavlovitz offered up: 'Don't Judge A Book By Its Coverup,' also using the hashtag #DonJrBookTitles. 'The Son's Also Racist,' suggested Eric Wolfson, one of many users to play off real fiction titles.

'Who's going to write it? And who's going to read it?‏' wrote Molly Jong-Fast, who has a substantial Twitter following.

News of the book deal emerged after it was reported Trump Jr. harbors an interest in running for mayor of heavily Democratic New York City

The president's eldest son reached an agreement to write a book focusing on politics, current news, and the future of his father's Make America Great Again movement, Politico reported Wednesday.

The book is expected to come out in late 2019 – as the Democratic presidential primary and his father's reelection campaign kick into high gear. The title of the book, terms of his deal, and any advance, were not immediately available.

Trump Jr. has become a regular at his father's campaign rallies, firing up crowds as a warm-up act.

He has also used his own Twitter feed to attack Democrats including former Vice President Joe Biden, as well as perceived enemies of his father. 'Time to investigate the investigators!!!'  he wrote Wednesday, retweeting a post about Clinton emails, former attorney general Loretta Lynch, and former FBI director James Comey.

Trump Jr has been followed by rumors about his political plans since he became a surrogate for his father's campaign in 2016.

The New York Post columnist Cindy Adams reported this week that he is telling friends that he wants to run for mayor in heavily-Democratic New York, his home town.

His father took the unusual move of trashing current mayor Bill de Blasio from Air Force One the day de Blasio announced his run for the Democratic presidential nomination.

'Drums are beating that would like to run for mayor. Of where? Where else?' Adams wrote in her column in the New York Post.

According to a brief statement from his publisher, Trump Jr plans to devote at least some of the book to settling scores.

'In this book, I look forward to expressing my observations and opinions about this significant time in American history, the great achievements of my father's administration, the great people across this country who support him, and those who oppose him,' Trump Jr said in the statement.

His publisher declined to reveal any information about the amount of Trump Jr's advance on the book.

Trump Jr finalized his divorce with former wife Vanessa Trump earlier this year.

Trump Jr will focus on his literary future making an appearance in another famous tome: the 448-page Mueller report.

Investigators deeply investigated his role in the infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians, set up after the promise of dirt on Hillary Clinton.

'Trump Jr. appears to have accepted that offer and to have arranged a meeting to receive those materials,' Mueller writes, and his office 'considered whether this evidence would establish a conspiracy to violate the foreign contributions ban.'

However, Trump Jr. was not charged with a crime. One reason, prosecutors wrote, is that they 'did not obtain admissible evidence likely to meet the government's burden to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that [Trump Jr and other] individuals acted 'willfully.'

He also may have benefitted from his apparent lack of knowledge. The office 'has not developed evidence that the participants in the meeting were familiar with the foreign-contribution ban or the application of federal law to the relevant factual context,' according to the report.

Trump Jr has no interest in running for a Wyoming Senate seat coming open, DailyMail.com reported this month. Trump Jr has taken regular hunting trips there.
