We pre-booked seats and meals with Thomas Cook for our flight home from Skiathos, Greece, at a cost of £40 each. At check-in, we were told the seats had been overbooked, so were allocated 38E and 38F instead of 5A and 5B. Research has found that 38 per cent of people had cancelled one or more insurance policies over the past three years because they could no longer afford them.
