'We're not villains!' House Rules' Pete and Courtney hit back at criticism after clashing with their co-stars Mikaela and Eliza
House Rules stars Pete, 32, and Courtney, 31, have hit back at criticisms that they're 'villains'.
Speaking to New Idea on Tuesday, the Victorian dance teachers said while they have been portrayed negatively on the show at times, they're nothing like that in real life.
'...We are absolutely not,' Courtney said about their 'villain' label.

'We feel so lucky that we were chosen and cast in this series. And the people that we're going with. I think that's just the whole good side of it.
'Because we've got these amazing new friends now that we've met along the way which is really nice.'
Despite speaking highly of their co-stars, the pair have been at the forefront of drama this week.

After being tasked with renovating Tim's Melbourne home, Mikaela and Eliza, Shayn and Carly, and Pete and Courtney all found themselves jostling for space on Tuesday's episode of House Rules.
'I think negotiating space this week is going to be one of the hardest things, because everyone is going to have their own visions for their rooms, and it's a small house. There's not a lot of room to work with,' admitted Carly, 31.
After measuring out the space needed to accommodate the bathroom and laundry, Shayn and Carly, and Mikaela and Eliza came to the conclusion they would need to encroach on Pete and Courtney's somewhat sizable kitchen.
With Pete and Courtney already on their way to buy kitchen cabinets, Eliza, 21, decided to call them on speakerphone to negotiate space.
Calling in a favour: It comes after the pair had a bit it a confrontation on the show with Eliza (left) and Mikaela (right) after she called Pete and Courtney to see if they'd negotiate making their kitchen smaller on Tuesday's episode of House Rules
But the couple weren't willing to compromise on space, with Courtney telling Eliza outright, 'We can't change it.'
Pete, 32, was adamant, telling the sisters 'a house this size doesn't need a full-size laundry', prompting Mikaela, 24, to tell him, 'there's not even enough room to open the door'.
'The thing that's annoying me about this convo [sic], girls, is that you just don't want to do a European laundry, and that's irritating,' he began, before being interrupted by the sisters.
'The thing that's annoying me about this convo [sic], girls, is that you just don't want to do a European laundry, and that's irritating,' ranted Pete
He continued: 'Let me finish. I don't want to be called and told the response. I'm happy to have a conversation with you, but I need to at least say something, mate.'
Clearly taken aback, Mikaela told him: 'This isn't a conversation. This is you dictating that you're not going to move the wall.'
Furious, Pete then wished them 'good luck' and hung up on the sisters, before turning the car around and heading back to the house to confront them in person.
Tight spaces: Pete suggested they make their laundry smaller, prompting Mikaela to tell him, 'there's not even enough room to open the door'
