Mystery of Bea's bruise: Princess sported a painful-looking blue mark on her ankle at Lady Gabriella's wedding - but it didn't stop her wearing towering stilettos

  • Princess Beatrice attended Lady Gabriella's wedding at Windsor Castle Saturday
  • Royal, 30, made first official appearance with boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
  • However all eyes were on the huge blue bruise she sported on her right foot

Princes Beatrice attended Lady Gabriella's wedding at Windsor Castle on Saturday, marking her first official appearance with boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

And despite all eyes being on the royal couple, many noticed Beatrice, 30, was sporting a  painful-looking bruise on her right foot as she arrived at the chapel.

Dressed in a navy lace dress from Self Portrait and white fascinator, Beatrice opted for perilously high nude heels - despite the injury.

The bruise, which spread just below the inside of her ankle, was of a purple hue - suggesting the injury occurred within the past week.

A bruise colour graph on Healthline charts the stages as beginning with red, before merging to a blue and purple hue within the first week, before changing to green and then yellow in the second and week.

FEMAIL has contacted the palace for comment on how the injury occurred.

Following her appearance at Lady Gabriella's wedding this weekend, celebrity stylist Lucas Armitage told FEMAIL how Beatrice has upped the ante in the style stakes.

The royal turned heads with two daring looks this weekend, as she joined her royal relatives to attend the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor at St George's Chapel in Berkshire.

The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson wore a white fascinator with a navy dress from Self Portrait as she stepped out with Edoardo, at Windsor Castle.

Beatrice wore the £370 high street dress as she made her first royal appearance with her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at the third royal wedding in less than a year on Saturday, before changing into a green lace creation by the same designer.

Celebrity stylist and fashion expert Lucas Armitage told Femail: 'Princess Beatrice debuted a new more stylish look over the weekend, enlisting the eternally cool brand Self Portrait to take a new stylish step forward.

'The brand is a go to for many A-listers including Kate who you will remember wore a white lace Self Portrait maxi that quickly became the dress of that summer.

'Beatrice used a colour clash with the hat, to give her that eclectic feeling we know her for, but managed to stay chic.
