Spring is well and truly here, and today Queen Mathilde of Belgium was certainly dressed for the occasion in a vibrant floral ensemble.

The royal looked elegant in a boldly patterned dress as she attended a meeting with members of the jury for the International Queen Elisabeth Music Concurs in Brussels.

The contest is an international competition for musicians starting their careers, including classical violinists, cellists, singers and pianists.

Proving her style credentials, the mother-of-four paired the look with a burgundy clutch bag and chunky accessories and she joined her husband King Philippe and sister-in-law Princess Astrid.

Opting for a sophisticated look, Mathilde sported a well-coiffed 'do as she swept her hair behind her ears.

She added a touch of vibrancy to the look with a pop of colour wearing a bright pink lip gloss in an otherwise natural look.

Meanwhile her husband Philippe opted for a navy pinstripe suit with a statement orange tie while her sister-in-law went for a contrasting green printed skirt and bright pink jacket.

It's the second day the Belgian royals have been at the celebrating musicians in the palace in Brussels.

Yesterday, Mathilde opted for yet another floral number, as she greeted guests in a pastel dress, while holding a bouquet of flowers herself.

The Queen pulled her blonde hair back to emphasise her pretty drop earrings, and smiled as she mingled with guests.

The appearance on home soil comes after the royal duo went on an official trip to South Korea earlier this spring.

The couple met a variety of officials, including the Republic's president,  while South Korean violinist and singer and songwriter Echae Kang and Belgian singer Sioen played for Mathilde and husband Philippe, 58, during the event.

King Philippe and Mathilde then visited the Jeon Jin Sang clinic, which specialises in palliative care and is directed by Belgian doctor Marie-Helene Brasseur.
