Ed Sheeran 'lands £300K Heinz advert where he shocks diners by pulling out a bottle of tomato ketchup in a posh restaurant'... after BEGGING his favourite sauce brand to work with him

He has previously branded himself Heinz ketchup's 'biggest fan' and even has a tattoo of the popular condiment on his upper arm.

And Ed Sheeran has reportedly landed a £300,0000 advert with his favourite sauce brand after begging them to work with him last month, according to The Sun.

The singer, 28, is believed to be starring in a new advert with the condiment line where he will whack out a bottle of their famous ketchup while sat in a posh restaurant.

The idea is thought to have been dreamed up by Ed himself, who is allegedly sick of the stigma surrounding asking for ketchup in upscale restaurants.

The collaboration with the brand came after Ed used his Instagram presence to inform Heinz that he had come up with an innovative advertising idea.

He penned alongside a variety of Heinz ketchup-themed snaps: 'Yo Heinz I have an idea for a tv ad if you wanna do one, if not I won't be offended, I could never be mad at you. Slide in my DMs or have your people call my people. Lots of love, your biggest fan x.

An insider told the website: 'Ed was really involved in working out what they would do in the advert and it's going to be a laugh for viewers.

'Over the years, Ed has experienced firsthand how people can turn their nose up or scoff at asking for ketchup in posh restaurants but he wants to poke fun at how ridiculous that is.

'The advert was shot in London in the last few weeks and will air on screens this summer.'

Sources claimed last year that the singing sensation is so obsessed with ketchup that he makes his entourage carry 'emergency bottles' of the stuff around for when it's not in reach at posh restaurants.

A source told The Sun that the Brit songwriter has run out of patience with places not serving while he's on tour, and that 'he’s made it a duty of key members of his entourage to carry a bottle wherever he goes so he can have it with everything from his morning sausage butty to upmarket dinners.'

In December 2017, Ed took to Instagram to profess his love for ketchup once more after The Daily Star ran a poll on who should become Prime Minister.

In the snap, he aired what his first laws would be, one of which was 'ketchup compulsory in all places with chips'.
