Britney Spears is spotted behind the wheel... as father Jamie looks to extend his daughter's conservatorship to three more US states

She has been seen out and about in the public in recent weeks following her latest stay at a health facility and latest battle over her conservatorship.

On Wednesday Britney Spears was spotted behind the wheel of her white Mercedes SUV G63 in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Seated next to her was a mystery man, who could very well be part of her security details that is supposed to be with her at all times, although they are supposed to steer clear unless there is any kind of 'red flag'.

The Toxic singer has been spotted out on Friday with her boyfriend Sam Asghari, and then again on Monday while driving with a mystery friend.

Wednesday's afternoon jaunt comes as her father, Jamie Spears, filed a notice of intent to expand his daughter's conservatorship outside of California to three other states: Louisiana, Florida and Hawaii.

Her dad has been the singer's conservator she was put on 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold in 2008.

Just this past March he became her sole conservator when his former co-conservator, attorney Andrew Wallet, resigned.

Despite reports that Britney and her mother Lynne are trying to reduce the scope of Jamie's power within the conservatorship, multiple sources report that Britney is actually involving him in her life 'more than usual' and talks to him at least three times a day.

There are a number of stipulations in place for the singer in her everyday life, which includes having a security escort and a ban from places like liquor stores.

Britney completed her most stay at a mental health facility last month.

Around the same time, a judge appointed an independent expert to evaluate the conservatorship, according to ET.

'Her focus at the moment is having her autonomy,' a source said, adding, 'functioning without medication isn’t an option for her.'

Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline still officially share 50/50 joint custody of their two sons Sean, 13 and Jayden, 12, but the time Britney gets to spend with her boys on a weekly basis varies depending on the circumstances.

Britney and her beau, Sam, have been romantically linked after meeting on the set of her Slumber party video about a year-and-a-half ago.
