But on Thursday Cristiano Ronaldo, 34, was taking time out from his sport to be a spectator at another as he enjoyed watching the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix 2019 qualifying session.
The sportsman was joined by his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, 25, and son Cristiano Jr, eight.

Cristiano dressed down in sweats for the outing as the trio watched from a VIP stand.
He added some bling with a log chain around his neck and designer shades.
Georgina meanwhile had her own sparkle with statement drop earrings, adding some dazzling detail to her black jacket.
She carried a green leather designer bag and looked glam with her flawless makeup.

The footballer has been dating former shop assistant Georgina since 2016, and the couple have a one-year-old daughter called Alana Martina together.
Georgina is also raising Ronaldo's two-year-old twins Eva and Mateo as well as Cristiano jr.
Earlier this month Georgina spoke to Italy's Elle magazine about her relationship with the Portugese player, as she explained they first met at the Gucci store where she worked.
She said: 'The first meeting with Ronaldo was at Gucci where I worked as a sales assistant. Days later we saw each other again at another brand's event...
'It was then we could talk in a relaxed atmosphere, outside of my work environment... It was love at first sight for both.'
