The Voice: Kelly Clarkson gushes over 'small town' teenage singer Britton Buchanan as top 12 perform

Kelly Clarkson got a little gooey over 18-year-old Britton Buchanan on Monday's episode of The Voice.

Britton, a North Carolina folk-rocker, performed Small Town by John Mellencamp.

'I come from a small town,' said the smiley teen who caused the crowd to explode with his performance.

'You're like the coolest person ever…I mean you're 18-years-old, owning all these women in here,' gushed Kelly.

'You're born to be on stage,' added the 35-year-old Stronger singer.

'Your destiny is to be here,' raved Kelly's fellow judge Alicia Keys.

Britton's performance was part of a night of singing from season 14's top 12 contestants.

Each contestant had to choose a track that held some personal meaning for them.

First up was Rayshun LaMarr from Adam Levine's team.

The 33-year-old Maryland native did When Love Takes Over.

'Rayshun just continues to amp it up more, every single time,' said Adam, calling him the new 'frontrunner.'

Next was Kelly's 31-year-old country artist Kaleb Lee with Lonestar's Amazed.

'It feels regretful,' said his former coach Blake Shelton.

Alicia's protégée Jackie Foster did a new arrangement of the Britney Spears hit songToxic.

'I love you, I dream of those moments,' Kelly told the 21-year-old Bostonian.

'This was killer, you nailed it,' said Alicia.

'It's really rare that a singer has it all…you just have it all,' Adam told the 26-year-old Ohio native.

Blake praised her 'authenticity.'

Alicia's 'double save' Christiana Danielle, a 22-year-old from Indiana, did Say Something by A Great Big World.

'The low tones in your voice are so magical,' said Kelly.

Next was Cleveland soul singer D.R. King with Dido's White Flag.

'You have so many layers,' Blake told the 34-year-old contestant.

'I want to hear the record that you're going to make,' raved Kelly.

Team Kelly's 15-year-old Brynn Cartelli tried a rendition of Up To The Mountain by Patty Griffin.

Adam's 28-year-old country singer Jackie Verna did Avril Lavigne's I'm With You.

'You do come with that country angle…you're a great singer sis,' Blake told the Pennsylvania resident.

'You are amazing,' chimed in Adam.

Kyla Jade, Team Blake's 33-year-old Nashville vocalist, did One Night Only by Jennifer Hudson as the last performer.

'Welcome to the front of the stage…let's start mowing them down,' shouted Blake, who urged Kyla to leave her insecurities at the door.

The Voice continues on Tuesday on NBC.
