Arnold Schwarzenegger heads out in LA after dropkick attack in South Africa... ahead of release of first trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate

He took a dropkick to the back in an incident with a 'crazed fan' on Saturday during a visit to South Africa.

And on Wednesday, Arnold Schwarzenegger was seen back in Los Angeles looking none the worse for his experience.

The Hollywood star and former Governor of California wore a jacket emblazoned with the US flag on one sleeve and the state flag of California on the other as he stepped out in the Brentwood neighborhood.

The 71-year-old barely flinched in the assault that was caught on video and decided not to press charges against the perpetrator.

In the bizarre attack that occurred at the Arnold Sports Festival at the Santon Convention Centre in Sandton, South Africa, a man appeared seemingly out of nowhere and dropkicks the actor and former bodybuilder in the back between his shoulder blades.

His security detail then wrestles the attacker to the floor as Schwarzenegger stands there looking somewhat bemused by what happened.

'Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about,' he tweeted afterwards.

On Tuesday, Schwarzenegger, 71, tweeted the announcement that the first trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate would be released at 6 a.m. PST on Thursday.

'Since I’m from the future I can officially report that the @Terminator trailer is 48 hours away,' he wrote alongside a 10-second clip driving home the release date and time.

Schwarzenegger reunites with Linda Hamilton for the first time in 28 years as they reprise their roles as the T-800 and Sarah Connor in what's being billed as a direct sequel to 1991's Terminator 2: Dark Fate.

The action movie is produced by James Cameron, who directed the first two Terminator films, and helmed by Tim Miller who directed 2016's hugely successful Deadpool.
