Juri 'Julie' Kibuishi, 23 (right bottom) was found dead at the apartment of her friend Sam Herr (left bottom), 26, in Costa Mesa, California, in May 2010. Authorities believed Herr, 26, had raped and killed Kibuishi before fleeing. They later discovered the true killer was Herr's friend and neighbor, Daniel Wozniak (right and left, in interrogation). Prosecutors argued that the struggling actor killed Herr to steal the $60,000 he made while serving in Afghanistan and then killed Kibuishi as a cover-up. The money was allegedly to pay for Wozniak's wedding and honeymoon. Wozniak, 35, was found guilty on two counts of first degree murder and sentenced to death. His fiancée, Rachel Buffett, was found guilty of being an accessory after the fact and was sentenced to 44 months in jail.

Three California parents have pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from the college admissions cheating scheme. Marjorie Klapper, 50 (left), of Menlo Park, California; Jane Buckingham, 50 (center), of Beverly Hills, California, and Robert Flaxman, 62 (right), of Laguna Beach, California, pleaded guilty Friday to one count each of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud for paying to cheat for their children's college entrance exams. The three parents pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston, in front of U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani, who also set their sentencing hearings, authorities said in a media alert. Klapper will be sentenced on October 16, Flaxman on October 18 and Buckingham on October 23.

Jerry Nadler, the House Democratic chair, appeared to almost collapse when he slumped and said he was unwell as he sat beside New York mayor Bill de Blasio at a press conference in the city. The 71-year-old, a frequent target for Donald Trump, was put on a stretcher and taken to a waiting ambulance for treatment for 'dehydration.' His spokesperson said he was 'responsive and receiving a check-up.' It was unclear if he had been taken to hospital for medical attention.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump departed for Tokyo, Japan on Friday. This is Trump's second official state visit to Japan since becoming president. Trump spoke to reporters on the South Lawn for a little less than 15 minutes before boarding Marine One the depart for the five-day trip. When asked about the intentions and plans for the visit, Trump ignored those reporters' questions. He did answer several other questions centered around the Russia report, his strained relationship with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the 'transparency' of his Attorney General Bill Barr. The Japan trip is centered around the enthronement of the new Japanese emperor and takes place over Memorial Day weekend. This will be the first time Trump has not been in the U.S. during the holiday that honors fallen soldiers. Over the long weekend, Trump will be the guest of honor at cultural events intended to flatter the visiting leader - including a sumo wrestling tournament where he'll present the winner with a prize – and showcase the strength of the nations' friendship. The Spring Basho Sumo Tournament is being referred to as the 'Trump Cup'. 

The clarity of Lake Tahoe's cobalt blue water improved last year from its worst level in a half-century after weather and runoff returned to more normal conditions at the alpine lake straddling the California-Nevada line. A dinner plate-sized disc used to measure clarity was visible at an average depth of 70.9 feet (21.6 meters) in 2018, scientists at the University of California, Davis, Tahoe Environmental Research Center said Thursday. That's an improvement of 10.5 feet (3.2 meters) from 2017 when a winter with unusually heavy snow followed years of drought, sending sediment into the scenic lake known for its pine tree-lined beaches and ski resorts.

Troubled reality TV star Luann de Lesseps was seen in The Hamptons the day after her dramatic day in court. The 54-year-old star of The Real Housewives of New York - also known as The Countess - returned to her home in Sag Harbor on Long Island in New York immediately after her probation violation hearing in Palm Beach. On Friday morning was seen picking up groceries with an unidentified male companion, who stayed out of the photographs.

An Illinois high school history teacher has been suspended after a video showing him rubbing the back and grabbing the waist of a teenage female student went viral. In the video filmed on Monday, Travis Holland can be seen rubbing his hand up and down the back of a teenage girl in a classroom at Eagerville Highschool. Holland’s hand then slowly motions down towards her lower back, then across to her waist, where the teacher and school’s baseball coach appears to pull her in closer towards him.

Timothy Jones Jr. is on trial for the murders of his five children in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2014. He first killed his six-year-old son, Nahtahn, (bottom second left) in a rage because he had broken an electricity outlet, beating him then claiming to find him dead in his bed. Next, he strangled his son Elias, seven, bottom right) with his hands, in front of his eight-year-old daughter Merah (main, right). He then killed two-year-old Gabriel (inset bottom left).

Mario Batali, 58, wearing his signature red ponytail and a blazer, kept mum during the brief hearing in Boston Friday but nodded as the judge ordered him to stay away from the accuser. The court entered a not guilty plea on his behalf to a charge of indecent assault and battery in connection to the 2017 selfie incident. It's the first criminal charge levied against Batali following sexual harassment and assault allegations that first surfaced in April 2017 amid the #MeToo movement. The name of Batali's accuser does not appear in the Suffolk County indictment dated April 4, according to the Boston Globe. But the charges include allegations in a civil case against Batali filed last August by a Boston woman named Natali Tene, 28. Tene says Batali noticed her taking a photo of him at the now-defunct Towne Stove and Spirits restaurant and invited her to take a selfie with him. She says Batali then groped one of her breasts and her buttocks and groin, and kissed her face repeatedly without her consent. The civil lawsuit Tene filed against Batali seeking unspecified damages for 'severe emotional distress' is pending. 

The 28-year-old, who plays Tate in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, showed up to the film's photocall at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday sporting a middle part and two loose braids on each side of her head. Tate wore the ethereal hairstyle in Cannes just one year before she was brutally murdered by Charles Manson's followers in 1969. The late actress was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her and her husband Roman Polanski's first child when she was stabbed to death at the age of 26. Robbie spoke with Tate's family and friends to prepare for the role, including her sister Debra Tate.

Belgian model Marisa Papen provoked the Hasidic Jewish community by walking totally exposed around Williamsburg, in Brooklyn, New York (pictured left). She said one man had 'gurgled and spat right through an open window' at her while she sat in a taxi while video footage showed her being confronted by a group of furious locals (right). The model has previously stripped off at holy sites in Islam, Judaism and Christianity, posing naked at Istanbul's Hagia Sophia, Jerusalem's Western Wall and near St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has issued a public apology after a middle school teacher took to social media to claim her students had been subjected to racial abuse during a field trip last week. Marvelyne Lamy, who teaches the seventh grade at the Davis Leadership Academy in Dorchester, Massachusetts, said that her students had been ‘racially profiled’ during an excursion to the museum on May 14. The class, Lamy said, was made up entirely by black students and other ethnicities. There were no white students in her tour group.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT - Chris Gordon, 44, a teacher in New Ulm, Minnesota, woke up in March 2015 with a lump on his elbow. At first he was dismissed, but his condition deteriorated. He was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic where he was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, a bacterial infection that destroys skin, fat and tissues around the muscles. Once he was diagnosed, he required 65 days in hospital to save his life.

Prime Minister Theresa May announced her departure in an emotional statement on the steps of Downing Street after meeting Tory backbench chief Sir Graham Brady and giving the news to her staff behind closed doors. She declared she will resign as Conservative leader on June 10, triggering a contest that should be complete by the end of July - admitting it was time for someone else to try and deliver Brexit. The dramatic move comes after Mrs May's last-ditch effort to get her EU deal through the Commons backfired spectacularly. Tories were up in arms and the Cabinet mounted an open revolt after she offered MPs a vote on holding a second referendum and joining a temporary customs union with the EU. The PM humiliatingly pulled her Withdrawal Agreement Bill - known as WAB - yesterday after seemingly accepting the inevitable.

Melania, 49, and her husband, President Donald Trump, 72, will be spending Memorial Day weekend in Tokyo during their four-day state visit that's tied to the enthronement of the new Japanese emperor. Melania donned a white Calvin Klein button-down shirt dress featuring postcards of images from the American West for her flight. The former model had a bit of a Princess Diana moment on the South Lawn of the White House when the breeze hit her dress and caused it to cling to her legs. It was reminiscent of the famous backlit photo of the late royal wearing a see-through skirt, which was taken when she was Prince Charles's girlfriend in 1980 (inset). The president and first lady traveled to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Marine One before boarding Air Force One for their flight to Japan. They are the first state guests of Emperor Naruhito, who ascended to the Chrysanthemum Throne on May 1, following his father's early abdication.

The first daughter wore a sparkly sheer gown, which had a nude slip underneath, long sleeves, and a low neckline. An American soldier and his friends were left aghast after being presented with a staggering $935 check for a modest lunch of calamari, salads and beers in Greece. Francisco Tajeda (pictured bottom left), 38, from Brooklyn, revealed on TripAdvisor how staff at the DK Oyster restaurant in Mykonos (owner Dimitris Kalamaras shown left) refused to give their party a menu or show them prices, before surprising them with the final tab. A member of New York's 69th Infantry Regiment, Francisco said he couldn't believe his eyes when he realized they'd been charged $661.41 (€591) for six plates of calamari and $167.87 (€150) for six beers - an eye-watering $27.97 per drink

A decades-old video has shown world renowned self-help guru Tony Robbins repeatedly using the N-word while lecturing African Americans on how to respond to racism. In the video posted online and first reported by Buzzfeed News, Robbins can be seen dancing and singing on stage during one of his seminars in the 1980s as he repeats the racial slur. The life coach was recalling an 'intense' encounter he had with a predominantly black crowd at a previous presentation during which he was asked why he used one white examples during his seminars.  Robbins, who is now 59, said he told one man that he would never be free if he didn't stop taking offense to racial issues.

The Duchess of Sussex (left with the Queen and Harry), was a vocal critic of Donald Trump (right) in the past and once branded him a 'misogynist'. She will not be joining Prince Harry and the Queen for a private lunch with the president on the first day of his state visit to the UK. Instead, she will stay at home with baby Archie. In 2016, then-Suits actress Meghan campaigned against Mr Trump becoming president and instead backed Hillary Clinton for the position. She said: 'I’m voting for Hillary Clinton, not because she is a woman, but because Trump has made it easy to see that you don't really want that kind of world that he's painting.' Buckingham Palace has released the itinerary for the president's three-day visit to the UK, which will see him and first lady Melania also having tea with the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at Clarence House before visiting Downing Street for talks with Prime Minister Theresa May .

Drone footage has captured the incredible moment three volunteers winched an elderly man to safety after his car became trapped in floodwaters.  The remarkable rescue happened Wednesday in Neodesha, Kansas which had been battered by torrential rain.  The man, identified as 88-year-old Robert Harriman of nearby Cherryvale, had been stranded in his submerged car for more than 10 hours before the rescuers arrived. 

Louisiana State Police say it happened shortly after 2am on Friday at the Black Bayou Bridge about six miles south of Lake Charles. The pair were in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze when they reached the pontoon bridge that had been closed to allow a boat to pass. According to witnesses, the driver push the barrier gate up to allow the car to pass and after stopping briefly they put the vehicle in reverse in an attempt to speed forward and jump the ramp.

The unnamed pooch was struck in the paw trying to defend its family from the home invaders who were holding the father inside the house at gunpoint at just after 1am Friday. Members of the family inside the house were told to stay in their rooms after the intruders broke in through the back door, but a 17-year-old managed to escape through their bedroom window and run for help. The intruders ransacked the home but the dog leaped to the rescue trying to protect her owners, police said. The gunmen shot at the dog twice, hitting her once.

Drake and the daughter of Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wes Edens have been trading barbs while the rapper's favorite team, the Toronto Raptors, has taken a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. In response Drake's animated courtside antics during the Raptors' Game 4 win in Toronto on Tuesday, Mallory Edens was seen seated next to Green Bay Packers quarterback and Bucks minority owner Aaron Rodgers in a T-shirt emblazoned with the image of Pusha T, a rapper with whom Drake has feuded. Drake, who was named the Raptors' 'global ambassador' in 2013, reacted on social media by changing his Instagram profile picture to a photo of Edens. 'All is fair in war and war and trust me I'll still get you tickets to ovo fest,' Drake wrote on Instagram, referring to a music festival. Pusha T previously criticized Drake on his album, 'Daytona,' going so far as to accuse the Toronto native of abandoning his son. The Raptors currently lead the series 3-2 and have a chance to clinch an NBA Finals Berth with a win in Toronto in Saturday's Game 6. The Bucks won the first two games of the series, but are now on the brink of elimination. And as if that wasn't frustrating enough for Milwaukee fans, Drake spent most of Game 4 slapping fives with Raptors players, heckling Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, and at one point giving Toronto coach Nick Nurse a quick back rub, all while toeing the sideline from his front-row seat. Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer complained about Drake's antics on Wednesday. 'There's certainly no place for fans and whatever it is exactly that Drake is for the Toronto Raptors to be on the court,' Budenholzer told reporters.

LeBron James (inset) is extending his kindness to a teenager in the Dominican Republic. The three-time NBA champion was wowed by Ronaldy Velez (pictured left on left and right) this week after footage surfaced of the young boy drilling an amazing shot while playing barefooted on a neighborhood sidewalk. The Dominican child appears in the viral video, recorded the afternoon of May 18 in Santiago, accepting the challenge of another neighborhood boy who is guarding him one-on-one. 

Basketball superfan Andrew Rowan and his tolerant fiancée Zoe Tisshaw recently posed for engagement photos. Andrew thinks engagement photos are 'kinda stupid' but agreed to do them if Zoe would stick to his basketball theme. The Vancouver, Canada couple dressed in athleticwear and recreated some of Andrew's favorite NBA moments. They mimicked a photo of James dunking a ball for the Miami Heat while Wade stands in the fore grown. The couple also copied a photo of former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Kevin Durant and James Harden celebrating with funny faces (left), and Vince Carter of Team USA dunking over the head of Team France's Frederic Weis (right)

The religious group's headquarters was in Brooklyn Heights from 1909 to 2016. Tunnels were excavated under properties bought by the religious group, the first in the 1920s. Four more tunnels were constructed in the 1960s, after the Witnesses secured a property at 25 Columbia Heights that became their Watchtower headquarters building (pictured below left). In communication between the group and the Department of Transportation the tunnels were officially used as a pedestrian passageway to transport supplies.The tunnels were also used to house offices, a grocery store and laundromats, meals were also prepared.Former members say the tunnels were used for tasks performed by the elderly, 'privacy, security,' and were an easy way to navigate through buildings along with protection so you don't have to face 'the outside people.' Four of the five tunnels are now filled in after the Jehovah's Witnesses decided to relocate their HQ to upstate New York.

Mount Agung volcano (main), in Bali, erupted on Friday, spreading ash across the Indonesian island. Flights in and out of Bali airport have been cancelled. The eruption lasted four minutes and 30 seconds, lava was seen spurting out of the crater and down the slope for three kilometres. Volcanic ash rained (inset) and affected villages in the nearby regions of Karangasem and Bangli but No immediate evacuation was called as the villages are well within the safe zone.

Pictured with locals in Marietta, Georgia, where he worked as a mailman for almost 35 years, Floyd Martin completed his final ever shift as a postal carrier on Wednesday, May 22. A few years after graduating high school in 1975, he took the postal service test, and eventually landed a job as a mailman. He has been serving the people in Marietta ever since, and has made a huge impact on locals in the area over the years. In order to celebrate his retirement, residents in the area came out to take photos with him, give him gifts and congratulate him on his achievement. Similarly, in order to help Floyd embark on his 'dream' trip to Hawaii, locals set up a Go Fund Me page, where over $18,000 has already been raised for the retiree.

Moby has devoted a good portion of his new memoir to name dropping the celebrities he has rubbed elbows with over the years, including a few of his famous paramours. Among them is Christina Ricci, who Moby alleges he bonded with in 2000 after his final US tour date in Los Angeles. He writes that the actress came backstage after the show and he started pouring her champagne before they headed out for a night of dancing and drinking that ended with the two alone in his hotel room. What Moby fails to mention however is that Ricci was just 20 at the time, and therefore not of legal drinking age. He also neglects to point out that he filmed the music video for his song Natural Blues months prior with Ricci, an odd omission given that she is carrying his dead body for almost half of the video.

Robbie Tripp from Miami, Florida went viral in 2017 for writing about how much he loved his wife Sarah's curvy figure. Now he's released a music video and song called Chubby Sexy about his preferred body type. His swimsuit-clad wife stars in the video, dancing and hanging out by the pool with other plus-size models. Robbie says he wants the song to be a 'curvy girl anthem' for women who are confident with their bigger bodies. Lyrics include: 'Two hundred pounds, no flat tummy, she don't need a man — yeah she's chubby yummy'

The Spice Girls kicked off their long awaited reunion tour in front of 58,000 fans in Dublin on Friday. The iconic 90s girlband – consisting of Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Mel C and Geri Horner (centre) took to the stage together for the first time as a foursome, after Victoria Beckham opted out of the reunion tour. Mel C (left) embraced her Sporty alter-ego with a futuristic look that embraced her toned physique, while Geri (bottom right) embodied Elsa with a blue Frozen-esque gown. Mel B's performance also came after she was rushed to hospital last week as she complained about being 'totally blind' (top right with Emma Bunton). The show also sparked walkouts by many angry fans, who complained that they could not hear any of the songs due to sound issues (bottom insert).

Nate Roman, 44 (inset, with his son), came home from work to find his house in Marlborough, Massachusetts had been broken into, but rather than being ransacked, it was cleaned from top to bottom. Roman told DailyMail.com the 'intruder' tidied up everything, including his five-and-a-half-year-old son's bedroom (right), which he said 'was a mess when I left that morning.' The person even left hand-folded roses adorning the top of his toilet paper rolls (left) in his bathrooms. 'I still have no idea who did this, it's all really crazy,' Roman told DailyMail.com on Thursday.

By soaring over rooftops in Iran's capital, Tehran, 16 floors up, backflipping between buildings and 'suicide kissing' a woman while hanging upside down off the side of massive structures, Alireza Japalaghy, 27, said he was able to channel his negative emotions. Japalaghy started free-running when his father - an ex policeman - went missing during his retirement and never came home. He said: 'What better way for me to get rid of all my emotions than by channelling them through my career, doing all of this parkour?'
