Kourtney Kardashian is one of the most famous women in the world, with a phenomenally successful reality show, a newly launched lifestyle site, and three children - yet she has revealed the thing she is 'most proud of' is her relationship with her ex-partner Scott Disick and his girlfriend Sofia Richie.

The 40-year-old mother-of-three, who had an intense on-again-off-again relationship with Scott, 35, that lasted nine years, spoke out about her amicable friendship with the happy couple in a new interview with Paper, while also posing as the magazine's latest cover star.

When asked about the unique dynamic between the three, Kourtney admitted that their friendly rapport is 'probably the thing I am most proud of', before going on to praise Scott and Sofia, 20, for inviting her on their Cancun vacation back in December.

'I don't think we'll go on every trip together,' she said of the getaway, on which they were also joined by the children. 'But I love that I'm invited.'

Unsurprisingly, images of the trio happily hanging out in Mexico a few months ago left some fans stunned, with many questioning just how Kourtney managed to feel so comfortable around her former partner and his new love interest.

Kourtney's confession comes just weeks after it was revealed that she and Scott had been described as 'soulmates' by a guru in Bali, where they were spending time with her family on vacation.

At the time, the reality star, who has three children with Scott - Mason, nine, Penelope, six, and Reign, four - seemed somewhat nonchalant about the guru's revelation, which was aired as part of the most recent series of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Recounting her meeting with guru Mas Joko to her sisters, Kourtney said: 'Scott came in and the guy was basically saying that in a past life ... that we were together and that we're soulmates.'

Kourtney's latest admission about her former partner and his new love certainly proves the theory that the pair are destined to be in each other's lives for many years to come - even if it is just as friends.

And as far as Sofia is concerned, Scott insists that she understands the former couple's close bond is nothing to be concerned about.

'Sofia knew going into this that I was extremely close with Kourtney,' he revealed on that same trip to Bali.

'She was like, "Listen, I will never get between you and your family and your children. Just speak to me and make me comfortable."'

However Scott admitted that he feels as though he has an obligation to be there for Kourtney, particularly after letting her down on so many occasions.

'I definitely do not want to disrespect my relationship with Sofia, because it really means a lot to me,' he said.

'Whether Kourtney and I are soulmates or not, I feel like I owe a lot to her for the times I missed when I was not the best partner to her.’

Romance aside, Kourtney told Paper that she has a lot of other things to focus on at the moment, both personally and professionally.

Work-wise, she is pouring all of her energy into new lifestyle and wellness website Poosh, which was named for her daughter Penelope, who goes by the same casual moniker.

'It's a new energy,' she said. 'I feel different. There's something all day that I'm doing. It doesn't leave my mind. Having a conference call this morning, on the way here, it was exciting for me. Having something to keep my brain going.'

The launch of the website comes after Kourtney spent time watching her sisters all throw themselves into other ventures and side hustles away from the KUWTK cameras, from Kim and Kylie's eponymous beauty brands to Kendall's modeling career to Khloe's fashion brand Good American.

She says that she felt pressure from her family to also leap into her own project, but says she was determined to find something that she felt really invested in, both personally and professionally.

Before Poosh, she did dabble in a few other things, confessing that she 'almost started a couple different things' - including an interiors-focused project - because she felt as thought 'everyone was pushing her'.

However the mother-of-three stuck to her guns and kept searching for the perfect project - which she believes she has found in Poosh, saying she is 'happy' and feels 'like this is her thing'.

'I do feel like that was missing before,' she added. 'This is something I can make for my kids to be proud of. It's named after my daughter, and it's hopefully something that can be hers someday.'

Indeed, Kourtney is finding so much enjoyment in her new venture, it seems she may finally be at a place where she is ready to take a very big step away from the family's reality show after 15 seasons on the air.

When asked by the Paper interviewer how she would feel if the cameras 'switched off tomorrow', the mom-of-three was incredibly clear, even repeating her answer for emphasis as she told the publication: 'I would be very happy. I would be very happy.'

Although she did not expand on her response, Kourtney's feelings about the long-running reality series could not have been more clear, and they will no doubt come as no surprise to the most dedicated fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, who have watched her become increasingly frustrated with her obligations to the show.

In August, it was rumored that Kourtney might actually be leaving the show for good after a trailer for the latest season revealed an argument between her and her sisters over her commitment to the show.

Although that proved to be something of a tease used to amp up the anticipation for the new season, Kourtney's lack of enthusiasm about Keeping Up with the Kardashians has been becoming more and more evident with each new episode.

The reality star even confessed that she is tempted to just 'move away someday and be away from it all', admitting that she'd love to 'sail away'.

'No one will ever see me again,' she added. Except maybe Scott and Sofia...
