Yoga instructor, Amanda Eller (left, on Friday with rescue crews), 35, has been found alive, Hawaii officials said Friday. Eller went missing on May 8 while hiking in the Makawao Forest Reserve trail in Maui. On Friday evening, helicopter search crews found Eller lying in a stream bed. The rescuers spotted Eller from the helicopter around 5pm local time. Incredible footage from the scene showed the helicopter rescue taking place. Officials said she was not injured but she did have a bit of sunburn. 'We found her in a stream bed, she was waving up at us while we were in the helicopter, and we got her out nice and safe,' Chris Berquist said.

A Maine man was found guilty of raping and killing his high school friend at a playground after being caught on camera dragging her body into the woods. Jalique Keene, 22, of Bar Harbor, Maine, was found guilty of gross sexual assault and murder Friday following a four day trial for the June 2018 death of his high school friend, Mikaela Conley, 19, the Bangor Daily News reported. Keene, a star running back, and Conley were schoolmates at Mount Desert Island High School. He graduated in 2015, while Conley was still a sophomore.Police said that on May 31, 2018, Conley had gone to pick up Keene from a Boston airport after he flew back from playing amateur football in Serbia. They were said to have arrived back in Bar Harbor on June 1 at 1am, at which point they walked to the playground near Conley's home.

The Texas mansion where Nichol Olsen, 37, and her daughters, Alexa Montez, 16, and 10-year-old London Bribiescas, were found shot to death, has hit the market for $975,000. Olsen, and her daughters were found in a pool of blood in their San Antonio home in January. The Anaqua Springs Ranch home, which is owned by Charles Wheeler, Olsen's boyfriend, made its debut on Realtor.com on Thursday. According to the website, the 4,500 square-foot home sits on 2.7 acres of land and features four beds and 4.5 baths. Inside the gated front entry is a courtyard that's complete with a walk-in pool and spa, an outdoor kitchen and waterfall. The home, which was built in 2008, also has a three-car garage and a game room. Olsen and her two daughters were discovered by Wheeler on January 10. All three suffered gunshot wounds. The Bexar County Medical Examiner ruled that London and Alexa were murdered and that their mother had committed suicide. But the Bexar County Sheriff's Office is continuing their own investigation and said Wheeler remains a person of interest to this day.

A Tennessee man who tweeted out an elaborate, viral tale about the time he stole a brick of heroin from MS-13 is now claiming that the story was a lie and has started a fundraiser to help him go into hiding because he fears for his life. Shane Morris, a web developer from Nashville, Tennessee, took to Twitter Monday night with a 109-tweet thread recounting a road trip he took with a friend. 'Y'all wanna hear a story about the time I accidentally transported a brick of heroin from Los Angeles to Seattle? I bet. Alright, let's do this...' Morris tweeted. What followed was a saga about how he and his friend bought a cheap van to use during their road trip, discovered a kilo of heroin inside it and sold the drugs to someone to get it out of his hands.

Missing couple found dead in submerged car brings death toll to 9 from storms

The bodies of John Reinhardt (right), 20, and Caitlin Frangel (left), 19, were discovered Friday in a submerged vehicle near the Mississippi River in Missouri, bringing the death toll to nine from storms that have ravaged the central US this week and threaten major flooding through the holiday weekend. They were reported missing on May 15. Their bodies were found around 4am on a flooded rural road that runs along the river at Portage Des Sioux, about 40 miles north of St Louis. Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Dallas Thompson said an autopsy determined they both drowned. 'We believe they went into it in the dark, not knowing the roadway was flooded, and they were unable to get out,' Thompson said. On Friday, authorities reported that an elderly couple was hurled 600ft from their home and another woman died in her mobile home when tornadoes ripped through the state. Kenneth Harris, 86, and his wife Opal, 83, were discovered hundreds of feet from their home in Golden City, while Betty Berg, 56, died when her tiny house was wrecked on Thursday. The Midwest storms killed another two people in Missouri earlier this week, as well as one death in Oklahoma and another in Iowa. Heavy rain in recent weeks has spurred major flooding in several states.

The owners of the Ark Encounter attraction in Williamstown, Kentucky say in a federal lawsuit that heavy rains in 2017 and 2018 caused a landslide on its access road. The religious tourist destination's insurance carriers refused to cover the damage. The 510-foot-long wooden ark has been a popular northern Kentucky attraction since its 2016 opening. The lawsuit says the road has been rebuilt. The ark was not damaged. The suit names Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings of Switzerland, its use company and three other insurance carriers as defendants. Ark Encounter seeks compensatory and punitive damages. The Swiss company hasn't responded in court filings.
