The star told The Sun: 'I was thinking, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to go blind. What about the tour? What the hell am I going to do?’ I was having a meltdown.'

She then recalled the moment her eye went 'blurry' ahead of rehearsals for the show,  but she kept 'blinking' because she though it would just 'go away' as it initially 'didn't hurt'.

She continued: 'Then pretty quickly it got worse and worse and then suddenly I just completely lost vision in that eye and my left also started to get blurry.

'I went into a complete panic because I thought I was going to go blind. I was on my way to rehearsals and as soon as I got to Bedfordshire, where we were rehearsing, I saw our paramedic who told me he could see there was a problem.

The singer arrived at London's Moorfields Eye Hospital and told medical staff that she was 'totally blind' and 'couldn't see anything' after losing vision in her right eye.

Mel is already unable to see out of her left eye due to botched laser surgery, which took place 20 years ago.

She also told how she had 'scarring' on that eye due to 'lots of conjunctivitis issues' as a child.

Mel recalled how the paramedic initially believed her problem to be a condition called 'iritis', which is inflammation around the pupil, with the star getting her assistant and sister Danielle to 'Google' it.

After being diagnosed with the condition by an eye doctor, she was then transferred '35 miles' to have a second opinion at Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

The Wannabe hitmaker added that she'd been given tablets and eye drops to take '15 times a day' and as soon as she was able to see, rushed back to rehearsals.

But Mel revealed that disaster struck the very next day as she went 'blind again' while rehearsing.

She told how she caused 'total panic' after running off stage in tears and keeping 'both my eyes shut' until her vision returned 15 minutes later.

Meanwhile, viewers were left surprised by Mel B's 'down to earth' and 'honest' answers on Piers Morgan's Life Stories interview, which aired on Saturday night.

The Mama singer detailed her experience in the Spice Girls, going under the knife and the romantic woes she has suffered during the interview with the Good Morning Britain host.
