They proudly served as co-honorary starters for the 103rd Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.
And Matt Damon and Christian Bale were all smiles when they hit the famed track to help wave the green flags to mark the beginning of the historic race.
The A-list actors' Indy weekend was also part of the marketing push for their upcoming new race-and-car inspired film, Ford V. Ferrari.

On your mark: The co-stars lifted the green flags moments before the beginning of the race
Christian kept it casual in a black Dickie's long-sleeved work shirt, blue jeans and Ray-Ban sunglasses. Matt also wore denim, a button-down shirt and sneakers as the guys first hit the red carpet for a photo-op next to some Indy cars.
They also jumped into the mix of adoring fans to sign autographs and pose for some selfies.
Feeling the anticipation growing as the start of the race neared, Bale and Damon were visibly excited to be a part of the big day for race fans.
Eventually the time came to answer the call of duty and get on the platform to kick-start the race.
Both men steadied themselves with green flags and then sent the drivers roaring into action when they began waving them.

In the end, the Indy 500 lived up to its billing.
Racer Simon Pagenaud took home the Borg-Warner trophy as the 2019 Indianapolis 500 champion, holding off Alexander Rossi in what turned out to be an amazing head-to-head duel charging into the dramatic final moments.
The drivers ended up swapping the lead five times over the final 13 laps, with the margin of victory coming in at a minuscule 0.2086 seconds, which is the seventh-closest finish in the history of the 103-year-old race.
Showing dominance as soon as Bale and Damon dropped the green flags, Pagenaud led the field 116 of the 200 laps, en route to his victory.

The upcoming film, Ford V. Ferrari, centers around the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France, where Ford developed a race car to challenge the cars of Enzo Ferrari.
Damon will play Carroll Shelby, designer of the Shelby Mustang, while Bale stars as Ken Miles, the British driver who raced in Shelby’s creation for Ford in the race.
Ford V. Ferrari is set to hit theaters in the US November 15, 2019.
