Matt Damon gets a high-five from wife Luciana Barroso after racing around in IndyCar as he gears up to be co-honorary starter for the Indy 500

Matt Damon is set to serve as a co-honorary starter for the 103rd Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 26, alongside Christian Bale.

But with less than 24-hours before the pros hit the track and reach speeds of over 220 mph, Damon got a taste of what it's like behind the wheel when he completed the IndyCar Experience with legendary driver Mario Andretti.

When it was all over, the A-list actor hopped out of the high-performance car and made a bee-line to his wife, Luciana Barroso to give her a high-five.

The Indy Racing Experience allows civilians like Damon to feel the rush of excitement in a mock-IndyCar as it follows a lead car and races around the famed track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Customers can opt to drive the car themselves, with the proper training, or ride in the back of two-seat car, i.e. Damon, with a driver in the front manning the wheel.

Speeds can top 130 mph, depending on each customer's comfort level in the open-wheel car.

Being the high-profile movie star that he is, Damon had the honor of driving behind race car legend Mario Andretti - the only driver to have ever won the NASCAR Cup Series, Formula One and an Indianapolis 500.

The two cars whisked around the track several times before pulling in near the pit area. And judging from his big beaming smile on his face, the Bourne Supremacy star loved every second of it.

Wife Luciana also shared in the moment with a big smile of her own when she greeted him with that high-five.
