The ex-foreign secretary (inset right) said: 'No one sensible would aim exclusively for a no-deal outcome'. As the battle for Downing Street heated up, Environment Secretary Michael Gove (main picture, today) insisted he has 'evolved' as a politician since previously stating he was 'incapable' of being prime minister. Boris Johnson (inset left) warned that the party faces a 'permanent haemorrhage' of supporters. They are joined as frontrunners in the leadership battle by Dominic Raab (inset centre).

EXCLUSIVE: Tristan Barrass, 13 (left) and Blake Barrass, 14 (right) died following what police described as a 'major' incident at a house in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, on Friday. The pictures show a smiling Blake wearing a baseball cap back to front, and Tristan, with his hair appeared to have been dyed yellow and cut into a mohawk also grins at the camera. Police were called to a property in the wider Shiregreen area of the city at around 7.30am, and arrested Barrass and Machin. Barrass is also accused of three counts of attempted murder against two other children. The boys died after they were taken to hospital and are suspected to have been poisoned, it was reported. It was claimed the 13 and 14-year-old boys sent a message from a Nintendo Switch console to a friend saying they were 'feeling sick' at 7am – half an hour before police were called to their house. Pictured inset: Sarah Barrass arriving at court today in a prison van.

She has been found guilty of serious professional misconduct but escaped with a written warning and was described as a 'highly competent and responsibly clinician'.

'Absolute tosh!' Nigel Farage loses his temper as GMB host Charlotte Hawkins repeats false claim that Remain votes 'add up' to a majority in Euro elections - even though Brexit Party won outright
Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage raged that pro-EU politicians were just 'moaning about every single election which they lose'. The furious rebuke came after some Remainers argued that adding up the votes for anti-Brexit parties could be taken as an indication that the public did not want to leave the EU. Presenter Charlotte Hawkins challenged Mr Farage about the idea as he appeared on ITV's GMB programme.
Furious viewers slam BBC's 'biased' Euro election coverage that focused on Lib Dems and Greens rather than Brexit Party win - and allowed Alastair Campbell to accuse Farage of taking Russian money
Viewers felt the corporation's election broadcast had emphasised the strong performance of the Greens and Liberal Democrats rather than focusing on Mr Farage's (pictured) victory in the UK contest. They also took aim at BBC presenters for allowing former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell to launch an attack on the Brexit Party's finances. Mr Campbell, a close former aide of Tony Blair, said Mr Farage's party had had the 'roubles coming in' - a reference to the Brexit campaign's alleged links to Russian money. However the Liberal Democrats also felt they had not been given enough airtime.

Ahmed Dawood Seedat, 37, killed Fahima Yusuf - originally from Bolton - while their children slept at their home in Perth, Western Australia in August. Accountant Seedat, 32, murdered his wife because he wanted a relationship with her sister. Today, a judge in Australia sentenced him to 23 year behind bars and called the killing brutal, callous and cowardly. Seedat's lawyer Bernard Standish previously told the court his client had lost attraction for his wife of eight years and that he could no longer meet her 'sexual demands'.
'Attention seeking’ veterinary nurse who deliberately poisoned her pet cocker spaniel Florence with insulin is struck off
A veterinary nurse escaped a jail sentence and has been struck off after deliberately poisoning her pet cocker spaniel with insulin. 'Attention seeking' Georgina Bretman (right) injected her black and white pooch with insulin in 2013, causing the animal to suffer hypoglycaemia, convulsions and seizures. The two-year-old dog received immediate veterinary treatment in order to avoid going into a coma and dying. In 2017, the then 28-year-old was convicted of causing Florence the dog (left) unnecessary suffering after a trial in Glasgow and she has now been struck off the register by the RCVS Veterinary Nurse Disciplinary Committee.
Environmentalist wins 18-month battle to keep his 85ft beech trees - despite them blocking neighbours' light - after council rules they are not a HEDGE
Howard Stark was the sole objector to beech trees being axed (pictured top right, circled in red) after his neighbours complained they left their home in darkness. Angus and June Clark argued the trees (pictured left and bottom right) left their ground-floor property in Paisley, Renfrewshire, with no natural light and took their fight to council bosses. They were delighted when a high hedge notice was issued by Renfrewshire Council ordering the trees to be cut to ground level. But Mr Stark, whose flat overlooks the communal garden where the trees sit, appealed to the Scottish Government who have now quashed the ruling and said they are not a hedge.
Big Fat Gypsy Invasion! Travellers roll onto common and set up camp with authorities powerless to move them on until after bank holiday
A group of travellers have descended on a children's play park in Hedge End, Hampshire. With the council and courts shut until after the bank holiday, the travellers are free to stay until they return and issue a court order. Police arrived at the site this morning to see if any criminality was taking place but trespassing is a civil, not criminal offence and in the hands of the landowners.
Waterfront home boasting beautiful panoramic views over a picturesque Cornish estuary and just yards from a secluded sandy beach goes on sale for almost £1m
Readymoney Cove (above), in Cornwall, sits at the mouth of the River Fowey and is less than 50 yards from a sandy beach. The four-bed cottage is just one of four houses in the secluded spot and enjoys glorious views over the beach to the river and open sea (bottom right). Less than a mile away is the home of author Daphne du Maurier, as well as the ruins of St Catherine's Castle, which dates from the 16th Century. On the ground floor is a charming entrance hall, three bedrooms and a family shower room. Upstairs there is an additional bedroom (bottom, centre) along with a generous sitting room - which doubles up as a dining room - and a quirky kitchen (bottom left) which has doors out to a breathtaking balcony. It has been listed with Cornish estate agents Lillicrap Chilcott who have given it an asking price of £950,000. The idyllic cottage was built around 300 years ago but by the time the current owners purchased it in 2007 it was just a 'hovel' and underwent a total refurbishment.

Nick Singh (left and right) alleges the company failed to deal properly with incidents including a BA pilot calling him ‘a dirty black P***’. He also claims that, despite being born in England, he was told to ‘**** off back to your own country’ by a white steward. The father of one, who is claiming racial discrimination at an employment tribunal, says he took his allegation that racism ‘is commonplace’ to senior managers including the chief executive, Alex Cruz.

The terrific 29! Farage's new Brexit Party MEPs include 'the smoked salmon king', a black gay businessman, an ex lads' mag editor and the mother-of-four who helped rout Labour and Tory rivals
Nigel Farage will lead an army of 29 new Brexit Party MEPs as they head to Brussels after thrashing the Tories and Labour. The group, who only joined the party six weeks ago, were elected in a shockwave vote sparked because Britain failed to leave the EU on March 29 this year. Many of the candidates are political newbies, most have a background in business but others have worked for the NHS, in the media or for Mr Farage himself. The eclectic group includes Belinda de Lucy (fourth row, far left), a mother-of-four, seafood millionaire Lance Forman (fourth row, centre left), former Communist Party member Claire Fox (bottom right), a panelist on BBC Radio 4's The Moral Maze and TV doctor David Bull (fourth row, second row), who helped launched ghost hunting TV show Most Haunted Live.

Thousands across the UK made the most of the three-day weekend by enjoying a night out after getting dressed up to the nines (pictured inset in Manchester) and hitting bars in major cities around the country. The three-phase project, which involved a two-storey extension with a new boardroom, staffroom and toilets, went ahead in 2017 despite alleged shortages of teaching staff and resources including IT equipment and interactive whiteboards. But the work allegedly resulted in 'stinking' toilets and £100,000 had to be spent to put right problems, the tribunal heard.

South Yorkshire Police previously said a 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Bar owner sparks furious backlash after moaning about customers who ask for TAP WATER with their meals and don't 'respect her business enough' to pay for drinks
Sam Espensen, who runs Bristol Spirit in Redfield, Bristol, sparked a fierce online debate about the financial difficulties businesses face. Sam wrote on Twitter (inset): 'If you just ask for tap water, it feels like you are telling us you don't value our business enough to buy a drink, which is the reason we exist. 'If you come to Bristol Spirit and you only drink free tap water - we will not make enough money from your table to break even, let alone turn a profit. Sorry to sound harsh but it REALLY affects our business - we have 26 covers in a sitting, and in the last week we've had at least 14 people just drink water.'

Miss Brown, 24, was killed when his speedboat crashed in the River Thames in 2015 and Shepherd, 31, was later convicted of her manslaughter at trial and jailed for six years. But before the trial concluded, he fled to Georgia for 10 months before eventually being extradited to face justice. Her family have accused the father-of-one of showing 'no remorse' for his actions and a source said they felt 'any air time for him is too much'.
First Afghan translator who served alongside British soldiers arrives in the UK to start a new life with his family after years of death threats from the Taliban
Bathed in sunshine week near their new home close to Coventry, 32-year-old Niz, his wife Spougmai and their five children need no longer worry about ambushes. For the past five years the family have ‘lived in the shadows’ after Niz was branded an infidel spy and told by the Taliban that he would be hunted down and killed for working as a senior interpreter for the British military – and later for the Foreign Office – at the height of the war in Afghanistan. But last week Niz became the first translator to begin a new life in Britain under rules brought in by former defence secretary Gavin Williamson in a major victory for the Daily Mail and its awardwinning Betrayal of the Brave campaign.

There has been a huge spike in Iraqi, Iranian and Afghan nationals travelling to the UK in recent months, prompting border officials on either side of the Channel to step up patrols.

Sir William Worsley (inset) rejoices in the title of Britain's first 'Tree Champion'. Yet his job has suddenly become a great deal more serious.
