A shaman, who is dating Princess Martha Louise of Norway, led a workshop in London this weekend, where he drove out negative spirits from people's bodies and minds.

Shaman Durek, 44, from Los Angeles, who believes he is a bridge to the spiritual world, led a two-hour workshop at London's Olympia during the Mind, Body and Spirit wellness festival.

Speaking to FEMAIL ahead of the workshop, the guru, who has worked with celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Selma Blair, said that he's not chasing a high profile, despite his relationship with the daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway.

Talking about his famous clients he said: 'They are not celebrities to me they are just friends. My relationships with them aren't any different to relationships with others.

'People always say "You're the celebrity shaman," but when I hear that I just gag. I'm the people's shaman. I'm not here to be your Gucci bag. I'm not here to be your next idol or your "guru".

Durek, who said he started seeing spirits at just five, then took wokrshop participants through a 20-minute exercise where he instructed the spirits of 'negative ancestors' to leave them, with some showing physical signs of ridding the spirits, such as bodily convulsions and muscle spasms.

The shaman, who publicly declared his relationship on social media with Princess Martha Louise of Norway this month, said his role was to 'observe life, connect people to their ancestors and observe what is needed to lift and shift people - we are the ambassadors of the spirit world.'

He believes that negative thought and they way we speak about ourselves and to others is having a huge impact on our lives.

'What if I told you that every time you opened your mouth you are building yourself or destroying yourself?' he said. 'Every time you speak to someone you are increasing their energy or you are tearing it down?'

Half an hour into the workshop he led attendees in an exercise where he instructed water, air and light spirits to enter their bodies, asking them to cleanse bad energy that was limiting them or making them suffer.

He said: 'I ask the spirits now to go into every persons body – I ask them to go down into the body and download into their system and access a frequency of cleansing.'

The exercise got more intense as he continued to instruct the negative spirits of the ancestors to release from people's bodies and minds.

He said: 'I am now taking you to the light of love, of celebration and freedom, pleasure and bliss.'

He explained this negative energy would be released through coughing, deep gulping, yawning or muscle spasms.

People's reactions in the workshop went from a slight cough to one woman crying and patting her body down, while others had spasms which made their legs and arms move.

Many were also coughing and yawning - and the shaman told the audience not to cover their mouths so that spirits could leave their bodies.

He carried on: 'Spirits of the lord's dimensions – we know you are tapping into the consciousness of every human being on earth, having them believe and think differently to themselves because you are sharing your story that you did not choose to relinquish into their light when you died.'

Instructing the negative spirits away he said: 'Spirits, I know you can hear me, of course you will be accepted by the light - we love you unconditionally.

'Pull yourself out of their brain and body – you have no right to share your story with their consciousness - their vessel is not for you to inhabit.'

Durek refers himself as being an 'evolutionary innovator, spirit hacker, women's empowerment leader and human rights activist.'

The royal also hit back critics of the relationship, saying she did not choose her boyfriend to 'satisfy the norms'.

Earlier on he spoke about why so many people reach out to him and complain about being unhappy, saying: 'A lot of us lack emotional intelligence – they are bought up in a society where the equation of their being in based on being loved or likes on social media.

'When you’ve been told by your religion or family structure that if you don’t follow the rules you’re going to get in trouble - you begin to develop an inner feeling of lack, that you don’t have enough intrinsic ability to make decision that govern your life.'

He also believes that we are existing at a quantum multidimensional level, meaning that there are many ways our life can go, but we have to believe it and write our own code.

'Every single thing you say is a brick that you are putting down on the path of your life, the future is you writing code – what doesn’t exist doesn’t exist because of you,' he explained.

'All those aspects of you can only be recognised when you put your mind upon it. Why would you think to put a door or limitation or equation in your way? Is it because you like pain? Is it because you enjoy failing? Or is it because you get to be right?'

He added: �?How can you say you love creation if you put yourself down? It would be like an artist who says they hate their art.’

While in his eyes he believes that negative talk is a way of putting a curse on someone: �?Every time you speak against another person, in a way which creates limitation, fear - you are cursing them, let’s get real about that.’

Then added that we need to think about how we are, 'creating or destroying in the way I am speaking to myself and others?'

Durek said the he is not a 'celebrity shaman' nor is he a Gucci handbag - claiming his relationships with celebrities aren't any different to relationships with no celebrities

Appearing on today's ITV This Morning Sham Durek assessed presenter Eamonn's energies.

Telling the spirits to enter his body he said that he holds on to a lot of emotional energy in his stomach, hips and spine and that causes anxiousness.

He also said the spirits told him that he has a lot of love for his mother and family but feels he has to control everything so that leaves him exhausted and stressed.

He went on to say that Eamonn constantly feels as though he hasn't done enough, which doesn't allow him to rest - which Eamonn and Ruth agreed with.

During the five minute segment the shaman asked spirits to release the poison out of his rib cage by coughing and yawning.

Eamon started to yawn and cough, which surprised wife Ruth who was watching on.

He then said: 'Spirits download uncontrollable laughter into his body,' which made him start laughing.

The shaman said that that was the spirits way of releasing his worries and negative thoughts. While Eamonn confessed he was lighter of mind and more care free.
