Miranda Lambert hung up on interviewer when asked about ex Blake Shelton's new love Gwen Stefani

Miranda Lambert has revealed that she hung up on an interviewer when they asked her about Gwen Stefani.

The country music star poured her feelings about the breakup of her marriage to Blake Shelton into songs for her 2016 album The Weight Of These Wings.

She didn't promote it because, she tells HITS Daily Double, she wanted the music to speak for itself. But when she did decide to speak to the press, it wasn't a happy experience, she explains in the interview published Tuesday.

Lambert said she knew talking about the breakup and the songs inspired by it 'was going to be hell, and I'd already been through hell. It was hell putting it on paper, putting my words on paper. So I didn't want to rehash.'

The 34-year-old Grammy winner went on: 'I'd finally gotten to a place where I wasn't sad anymore. All the sad moments were there, all the truths were right in those songs. All you had to do was listen. I didn't need to say anything.'

'When the music was out, people had listened, I got on the phone for the first interview,' she said. 'First question was, 'How do you feel about Gwen?' I hung up.'
