Mother, 38, charged with felony DUI and child endangerment after failing to seat belt her twin boys, 6, who were thrown from the car and killed in a head-on collision

Twin six-year-old boys, who weren't wearing their seat belts, died after their mother got into a head-on collision with an oncoming car on a South Carolina highway. 

Dylan and Camryn Clark, both six, of Seneca, South Carolina, were in the backseat of their mother's 2005 BMW while she was driving down a Pickens County, South Carolina, high way Sunday, just after 10pm. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol said that the boys' mother, Jennifer Lyn Knox, 38, was trying to pass a boat-towing car in front of her when she head-on collided with a 2014 Kia traveling in the opposite direction, according to WYFF

Knox's car was said to have overturned during the crash and then slid down the highway on its roof. When the car hit a ditch, it flipped over, at which point Knox and the twins were ejected. 

Neither Knox nor the twins were wearing their seat belts at the time of the incident. 

All three family members were transported to different hospitals. Knox was treated for her injuries, but the two boys died from theirs.  

The driver of the Kia, who was wearing his seat belt during the crash, was uninjured. 

Authorities charged Knox with two counts felony DUI resulting in death, child endangerment, two counts child restraint violation and a seat belt violation.

Knox is said to be in the hospital and will be taken to jail when she's cleared for transport. 

'It's all so shocking and heartbreaking,' the twins' aunt, Pamela Clark, told FOX Carolina, calling them the 'sweetest little twins ever.'

The twin boys' father, Billy Clark, is arranging to have their bodies sent to Florida for their funerals. 

According to a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses started Monday, the twins had been in South Carolina with Knox for the past year and were getting ready to move to Florida to live with their father when the accident happened.     

'The Whole Family is Just in Total Shock and Devastation over this,' reads the GoFundMe description. 'Truly Heartbreaking losing a child........Totally Devastating losing twins boys at the same time. RIP Little Warriors Fly High and Know that You are Truly Loved and Missed Every Second of Every Day.'

The boys were said to have loved to play, go fishing, take walks in the park and spend time with their older brother, Billy Clark Jr. 

'They had Big Hearts and Eyes that Sparkled and Were Just So Loveable their Smiles Could Melt any Heart. So Young and Innocent. Words Just Can't Even Begin to Describe,' the GoFundMe description concluded.
