Taylor Swift says 'there are political undertones' in her new music... after making headlines for supporting Democrats in 2018 midterms

Taylor Swift is getting more political.

'I definitely think there are political undertones in the new music I made,' said the 29-year-old singer-songwriter, who has past made clear that one of her principle goals is motivating her fans to get to the ballot box with the 2020 election approaching in less than a year-and-a-half.

'I'm not planning to stop encouraging young people to vote and to try to get them to talk about what's going on in our country,' the ME! songstress told German outlet RTL Friday. 'I think that's one of the most important things I could do.'

Eye on the future: Taylor Swift, 29, told the German outlet RTL that 'there are political undertones in the new music [she's] made' that's set to be released in the future. She was snapped in LA in March

Say it in sequins like Taylor in a playsuit by Rosa Bloom

Taylor Swift certainly made an entrance at the iHeartRadio Awards 2019.

The superstar singer stepped onto the red carpet rocking an embellished playsuit, featuring iridescent disc sequins and a cape-style layer. Add in a pair of winged heels by Sophia Webster and it's a showstopper of an outfit.

The all-in-one is by British brand Rosa Bloom, and although Taylor has got designer labels like Stella McCartney, Julien Macdonald and Versace in her wardrobe, fans of her style will be happy to hear this playsuit costs just $245...!

It's got festival season written all over it, right? Click through to take a closer look. It's currently sold out, but you can sign up to be notified when it's back in stock.

The Grammy-winner has largely stayed out of the political fray in more than a decade in the limelight, but did speak out last fall in support of two Tennessee Democrats: Rep. Jim Cooper, who won his race; and senatorial candidate Phil Bredesen, as Swift was strongly opposed to his opponent, (and eventual winner) Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn.

'As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn,' the Look What You Made Me Do singer said in an October 7 Instagram post that made headlines. 'Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women.

'She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry.'

The Nashville native, added, 'These are not MY Tennessee values.'

In the post, the Shake It Off singer said she'd overcome her past reluctance 'to publicly voice [her] political opinions.

'Due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,' she said. 'I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country.'

After Swift spoke out against Blackburn - who was endorsed by President Donald Trump - the commander-in-chief said, 'I'm sure Taylor Swift has nothing - or doesn't know anything about' Blackburn, adding, 'Let's say that I like Taylor's music about 25 percent less now, OK?'

Irritated: President Donald Trump was dismissive of Swift's endorsement of Sen. Marsha Blackburn's opponent in the Tennessee senate race last fall. He said, 'I'm sure Taylor Swift has nothing - or doesn't know anything about' Blackburn, who was snapped with the president in November during a Chattanooga rally
