The Bachelorette: Cam Ayala gets booted by Hannah Brown after being accused of seeking 'pity rose'

Cam Ayala along with his oft-repeated tagline 'ABC. Always Be Cam' was given the boot Monday from season 15 of The Bachelorette.

Chosen to go on the episode's first group date with star Hannah Brown, 24, software sales pro Cam, 30, gamely participated after they received a date card reading, 'Let's push our love to the limit'.

With help from American Pie star Jason Biggs, 41, and his wife, actress and writer Jenny Mollen, 39, contestants investigated what it's like for women to have kids.

In hilarious clips, they took a pregnancy quiz, wore a pregnancy belly, changed a 'baby,' and underwent labor and breastfeeding simulations.

'Women go through a lot of pain, and so it's important that my man have sympathy, and empathy for what we go through,' said Hannah of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

'I don't really know too much about pregnancy except your belly gets bigger and bigger, and the woman gets hungrier and hungrier, so I'm excited to learn what else is going on here,' said Tyler Cameron, 26, a general contractor from Jupiter, Florida.

The men screamed and laughed their way through the exercises, but at the post-date cocktail party, Cam ditched them to go out for himself.

The Austin, Texas, resident already had made enemies on the show last week by showing up uninvited to a group date, saying he wanted to be 'bold' for Hannah.

He barged in again after his own group date inciting their wrath.

'Bold doesn't have to mean being an a**hole,' pointed out Jed Wyatt, 25, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, and one of Hannah's favorites so far.

Cam interrupted when contestant Mike Johnson, 31, was sitting with Hannah.

Mike said the day had been hard for him, as he and an ex-girlfriend had once lost a baby.

'I was really ready to start a family,' the portfolio manager from Texas recalled. 'We lost our child in the second trimester.'

Into this moving moment appeared Cam.

'I have something really important—whenever you wrap up… just a couple minutes here, please, man,' said Cam, interrupting Mike again and again.

Mike and Hannah continued their time together and kissed as Cam re-emerged.

'I have something really important I need to tell her. Please,' he pleaded.

'You'll get your time,' Mike said.

'I promise,' Hannah added.

Again, the two hugged and laughed and when Cam came back, they kissed in front of him.

'Hey Cam,' said Hannah.

Mike left them alone, grumbling: 'As if I didn't have nothing important to say myself. Sit your a** down and let me have my moment with Hannah.'

Cam told Hannah he resigned his job to be on the show, but contestant Jonathan then interrupted him, saying: 'What goes around comes around.'

'There's the saying that love is worth fighting for, but I'm not going to get physical,' Cam said in a confessional, after calling Jonathan an 'insecure Chihuahua.'

'In this case, I had to be the bigger man and walk away,' Cam said.

Cam sat next to Jonathan on the couch and glared at him, smiling and nodding.

'I'm kind of fascinated. I didn't think you had it in you,' he said.

'Me neither,' said Jonathan, holding the standoff.

Hannah had given Cam a rose before her season ever aired, on a post-Bachelor show called After The Final Rose, but her interest was flagging.

She shared a kiss with Jed and Tyler Cameron, but Mike earned the evening's rose.

'Bold can be shown in many different ways, and you showed another way to be bold tonight,' Hannah told Mike.

The next day, Hannah felt so weak she was taken to the hospital; her illness was not specified, but she said was nearly fainting.

Her one-on-one date for the show with Connor Saeli, 24, a Dallas investment analyst, ended up as a conversation in her sickbed.

Carrying flowers, a card and chicken noodle soup, Connor told Hannah he wanted to be like his own parents, who'd been married 37 years.

'There are a lot of ups and downs in life; sickness and health,' he shared. 'That's really what I aspire to have in my life.'

He left Post-Its all over the room, detailing all the things he loved about Hannah—from her maturity to her unaffected beauty.

Hannah sent a limo for him later, and they slow-danced on a second date to the song Love Someone, performed live by Lukas Graham.

'I did catch the Hannah bug today,' said Connor. 'I'm a little sick with the Hannah fever.'

'I love Connor. I think he's a great dude,' said Luke Parker, 24, an import/export manager from Gainesville, Georgia. 'He's going to marry an awesome woman one day. But not Hannah.'

The second group date found eight of the men engaged in a photo shoot by creative director Franco Lacosta with animals inspired by the film The Secret Life Of Pets 2.

While the men shot their photos, Demi Burnett, 23, an interior designer from Red Oak, Texas, helped Hannah assess them.

Demi, who'd met Hannah on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor, hired actresses to play the shoot's female animal handler and makeup artist and they hit on the men, but to no avail.

Luke was disturbed by seeing Hannah kiss other men at the shoot.

He insisted that she do a second photo with him, and tried to walk her to her changing room.

'Let's talk tonight,' Hannah said.

In a confessional, she explained. 'I need him to slow his roll. He is not guaranteed this. I have a lot of other relationships that are really great too, but I don't think he gets it.'

She took Luke aside later, at the second cocktail party.

'I want you to focus on me, and you do that,' she said. 'But you also don't respect that I have other relationships here... I like confidence, but it's cocky in a way. I don't like that at all. I want it to change.'

Luke left dejected, but then, like Cam, he returned to interrupt another man's date.

Hannah was frustrated.

'I promise I'm going to talk to you again, but I don't want to do this right now,' she said. 'Let me talk to everybody. I want to call my own shots.'

She went off to make out with Peter Weber, 27, a pilot from Westlake Village, California.

'I'm falling very hard for Hannah Kelsey Brown,' said Peter, son of a pageant queen like Hannah, the former Miss Alabama USA 2018. 'She just makes you feel so good and so comforting, and inspires you to be a better person.'

He picked her up to kiss her against a wall.

'That was the smoothest takeoff I've ever had, and this is going to be the greatest flight of my life,' added Peter, who won the rose that evening.

As the show closed, Hannah threw a tailgate party at the mansion.

Cam earlier wrote some of the men letters to say goodbye in case it was his last appearance.

He asked to speak to Hannah first that afternoon, adding that he had something hard to tell her.

Mike called 'BS,' saying, 'There's no rules of engagement.'

When Hannah showed up, she announced that she was set on having fun at the event.

'I've had a hard week,' she said. 'I just want a chill day.'

Cam pulled her aside immediately. He shared that he had an upsetting medical condition that once nearly required his leg to be amputated. It has since been revealed to be lymphedema, an uncurable buildup of fluid in the arms or legs.

He added that around the time of his many surgeries, his grandmother passed away, and then he also needed to find a new home for his 10-month-old puppy.

When contestant Mike Johnson suggested to Hannah that Cam was just seeking a 'pity rose,' she confronted Cam.

'I did appreciate you telling me what you did today,' she said carefully, calling it 'an interesting time for you to bring up this story.'

'I would never compromise the integrity of what I've been through for a pity rose,' Cam retorted.

'What you told me is very serious but it feels very manipulative at the timing of it,' Hannah said. 'This just really feels schemy and slimy to me.'

Cam was eliminated at the final rose ceremony, along with Jonathan and Joey.

'It's a tough pill to swallow—to hear someone that you pour your heart out to call you calculated,' Cam said, crying, as he left the mansion. 'It sucks.

'Because if she truly knew Cam, she would know that's not in my nature,' he added.

Contestant Tyler Gwozdz, 28, a psychology graduate student from Boca Raton, Florida, was also cut from the show by producers, for reasons unstated.

'Tyler G. had to leave, and that's upsetting, because I really enjoyed my date with him and felt like our relationship was at a really good place and I wanted to explore where that could go,' Hannah said in the only mention of his leaving during the episode.

A preview of next week's show found the men turning on Luke P., calling him 'violent,' 'a psychopath' and 'an evil pathological liar.'
