Michael claimed the support had helped his family through a very difficult time after his five-year-old son Noah was diagnosed with cancer.

'Hey Australia, I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much I love you, and how much it meant to me through all my family has been through,' he said.

He continued: 'The love, the outpouring, the prayers, you have no clue - no idea - how you got us through every day.'

Michael added that his fans have been a 'great blessing' to his family and he can't wait to show his 'gratitude' by performing on stage

His eldest son Noah was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a form of liver cancer, when he was just three years old.

Michael and his wife, Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato, are also parents to son Elias, three, and daughter Vida, 10 months.

Michael's tour will begin in Brisbane, before heading to Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.

The Canadian, who has had five No. 1 albums in Australia, will perform hits including Home, Just Haven't Met You Yet and Feeling Good with a 36-piece orchestra.
