Jason Momoa was 'too broke to fly home' when he first started filming Game of Thrones so went on an epic adventure around Ireland in a van

Since he propelled into stardom as Khal Drogo in Games of Thrones, he has amassed an estimated $14million net worth.

Jason decided to live out of a van and tour Ireland with his pal Brian Andrew Mendoza, during a break from shooting the HBO series.

Sharing a snap of his fond memory, he wrote: 'So homesick. Looking through my phone I found this. Off the road some quiet parking lot in donegal,' the Honolulu, Hawaii native wrote in a caption, explaining how the shot came to be. 'It was an amazing simple moment with my best friend.

'While filming GOT we had a lil break. We were to broke to fly home so we rented a panel van aka UHAUL in Belfast and drove around beautiful amazing IRELAND searching for the greatest pint of Guinness.'

Momoa said of the Guinness in Ireland: 'Turns out it’s perfect everywhere.'

Momoa was sentimental about his earlier days as an actor, as he played Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) husband on the debut season of the series, which ended earlier this month.

'So many wonderful people and stories,' he said. 'I treasure those times It was the simplest moments I remember the most. I still miss my family. Been a long road and I feel like I’m just getting started. On the roam Needs to go home. Ps ill ask Brian for more pics he’s got the gold. Aloha j.'
