Deontay Wilder has announced that he will have a rematch with Luis Ortiz next, leaving Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in the wilderness once again. The Bronze Bomber, the WBC champion, had been heavily linked to either a mammoth unification fight with Joshua or a rematch with Fury next but both of those fights now seem to be delayed again. Wilder got the better of Ortiz with a 10th-round knockout in March 2018 and will now go toe-to-toe with the Cuban again.

Recent events suggest Sergio Ramos is heading the same way. Revelations earlier in the week from the club president Florentino Perez that Ramos’ people had asked for a move to China that would bring the club no transfer fee left the captain looking like the bad guy. Perez was even asked if he felt the China deal was another manoeuvre to get Ramos a new contract – as a possible move to Manchester United had been in 2015 – and he replied: ‘Ask Rene Ramos, his agent, to come here and tell the story. If the player comes with a real offer we will refer to the release clause. We can’t let our captain go for free.’

Birgit Lauda, 40, and his two sons Mathias and Lucas (main) were pictured placing his trademark red crash helmet on top of his wooden coffin St. Stephen's Cathedral in his home city of Vienna. Hundreds of fans queued in the rain for hours outside the famous church before they were allowed in to file past his coffin. The triple world champion, best remembered for his comeback from a fiery crash in 1976 that left him badly burned and scarred him for life, died last week at the age of 70. Members of Lauda's family accompanied pallbearers carrying his remains into the gothic cathedral in the morning. His wife Birgit and two of his sons placed Lauda's red-and-white driver's helmet on the casket. Fans then came in and filed past the coffin that was placed on a platform in the centre of the cathedral. Bottom right: Lauda's coffin being brought into the church on Wednesday.

An Arsenal fan has posted pictures of the accommodation he was promised in Baku (right picture) - and the shockingly grim reality after arriving (left picture). Aaron Rose (top, centre) has travelled 2,500 miles to the Azerbaijan capital for the Europa League final clash with Chelsea. The online snaps of his accommodation show a smart-looking and clean bathroom but when Aaron, 24, arrived he was presented with the lodging's true reality.

Arsenal fans have been given a reason to worry ahead of the Europa League final against Chelsea. Footage has emerged of the Gunners players practising penalties ahead of the showdown in Baku, Azerbaijan. The video showed Mesut Ozil skying his penalty over the crossbar during training on Tuesday.

As day turned to night in Baku on Tuesday, Arsenal and Chelsea supporters continued to enjoy themselves as they prepared for the Europa League final. While their respective teams trained on the pitch at the Olympic Stadium, the fans who had made the mammoth journey from London and beyond drank in many of the city's old town pubs. The pressure and tension of performing in front of thousands can often bring the best out of sports stars but it seemed to have the opposite effect on one lady at Guaranteed Rate Field. A White Sox employee of the month had the honour of throwing the game's first pitch but, to put it mildly, she was just a little bit off target.

Brazil have hit been by a fresh injury blow just two-and-a-half weeks from the opening match of their home Copa America. Neymar limped out of a training session on Tuesday and appeared to be holding his left knee. The PSG star was seen on his haunches with discomfort etched across his face before slumping over a barrier with his head in his hands.

The anticipation went up a notch on Tuesday as Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr took part in a public workout in New York. Joshua and Ruiz Jr will meet in the ring at the Madison Square Garden on Saturday night with the Brit's IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles on the line. The two couldn't have looked more different as they both sparred in front of the viewing public. 

The last World Cup held in England 20 years ago was a massive opportunity for cricket to put on a true carnival. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jeremy Jeffress displayed incredible reactions to avoid serious injury while also taking one of the best catches in Major League Baseball history on Monday night. After pitching to Willians Astudillo, 31-year-old Jeffress saw the ball fly straight back towards him. It looked as though the powerfully-hit shot was set to strike Jeffress — who was not wearing a helmet — on his head but he did remarkably well to dodge out of the way. That was only half of the story though, because Jeffress somehow managed to catch the ball one-handed to dismiss Minnesota Twins batter Astudillo.

Brazil star Neymar is used to terrorising defenders with his skills but this time it was him who was beaten. During a Brazil training session this week Neymar closed down team-mate Everton but the 23-year-old was too quick and nutmegged the Paris Saint-Germain forward. Neymar did not let him get to the ball on the other side as he grabbed his bib and pulled him back.
