The couple were married for 13 years until Jennifer filed for divorce in 2017, according to The Connecticut Post.

After taking their children - three boys and two girls, including two sets of twins - from their home in Farmington, outside Hartford, Jennifer is said to have moved them into a rental home in New Cannan.

Court records show that Jennifer and Fotis, who is the president and CEO of building company the Fore Group, have been embroiled in a child custody row ever since their split, with more than 500 documents filed.

In July 2017, Dulos had an emergency order for full custody denied.

A hearing concerning their split that was scheduled for Wednesday had to be postponed, Dulos' lawyer, Wayne Effron confirmed.

Dulos' mother has been fighting Fotis in court, claiming he owed $2.5million in property loans

Dulos, who had previously blogged about their happy family life, got a master’s degree in writing from New York University.

A statement from her friends and family called Jennifer a 'devoted mother' who would 'never, ever, disappear when she is responsible for the lives of five loving and energetic children'.

It read: 'Since learning of the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos, our beloved daughter, mother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, we have been heartbroken; at the same time, we are moved and inspired by the support, assistance, concern, and love extended by so many.

'We remain hopeful that Jennifer will be found soon, and we urge anyone with information, however seemingly insignificant, to call the New Canaan Police.'

Dulos claimed that Fotis had threatened to 'take all of the children' and 'disappear' in his native Greece or another country. She alleged he told her 'you will never find us'

'Jennifer is gentle, kind, intelligent, and funny, and above all she prioritizes the health and happiness of her children.'

In a statement posted to Facebook the New Canaan police wrote they were 'continuing their efforts and investigation to locate' Dulos.

It is not clear if police have identified persons of interest in connection with her disappearance.
