The United States is on the verge of entering ‘uncharted territory’, experts say, as the country stands on the verge of breaking an unfavorable record of tornado activity this week, as more warnings are issued from the Great Plains to the East Coast. The deadly spate of weather has already killed one and injured hundreds more, but the slurry of volatile weather shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. On Monday, the US tied its current record of 12 consecutive days with at least eight tornadoes on each of those days, said Patrick Marsh, warning coordination meteorologist for the federal Storm Prediction Center.

Jennifer Dulos, 50, left and right, was last seen Friday driving a black 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, similar to the vehicle pictured inset. Officers have since searched the woods close to her New Canaan home. The Brown graduate is said to be embroiled in a bitter split and custody battle with her estranged husband Fotis Dulos over their kids, aged between six and 11. The couple were married for 13 years until Jennifer filed for divorce in 2017, according to reports. In July 2017 she is said to have had an emergency order for full custody denied. Her family say she is a 'devoted mother' who would 'never, ever, disappear' as they asked for help in finding her.

Amanda Eller (left), 35, says she fell to the ground and started bawling when a rescue helicopter spotted her in a Maui forest where she had survived by eating plants and drinking stream water for two weeks. Eller told reporters on Maui that other helicopters had failed to see her earlier in her ordeal. She was rescued on Friday. Eller says she set out for a 3-mile hike in the Makawao Forest Reserve on May 8. Eller is seen right with friends Javier Cantellops and Chris Berquist, who volunteered to find her on Friday.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (left) says ‘hateful messages’ like the one played by a minor league baseball team likening her to ‘America’s adversaries’ such as Kim Jong-un (bottom right) and Fidel Castro (top right) leads to a ‘flood of death threats.’ The Democratic congresswoman from New York reacted for the first time on Tuesday to a Memorial Day tribute video that was aired in a minor league baseball stadium by the Fresno Grizzlies of the Pacific Coast League. ‘What people don’t (maybe do) realize is when [organizations] air these hateful messages, my life changes [because] of the flood of death threats they inspire,’ the Bronx native tweeted (bottom left inset) on Tuesday.

A white female campground manager in Mississippi has been fired after she was filmed pulling a gun on a black couple who say they were only trying to enjoy a picnic by a lake with their dog. Jessica Richardson filmed the woman approaching her and her husband with a gun at the Kampgrounds of America in Starkville, north-east of Jacksonville, on Sunday. The woman, who manages the campground, asked the couple to leave when she found out they didn't have a reservation. The couple claim they asked at the front desk and were told they didn't need to be staying at the campground to spend the day by Oktibbeha County Lake.

The Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers are expected to flood at record-breaking levels as a downpour of rain is forecast to drench the Midwest states on Tuesday and Wednesday. The already flooded Arkansas River (top and bottom left) is expected to crest at a record high of 42.5 feet in Van Burden on Wednesday. The Mississippi River (bottom right) is projected to crest at 44 feet in St. Louis this week – the second-highest record in history. The Arkansas river topped two levees on Tuesday and has flooded hundreds of homes in Arkansas and Oklahoma, leading to evacuations. President Donald Trump tweeted his support to Arkansas' governor in light of the record floods on Tuesday. Significant rain is forecast to downpour in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, on Tuesday and Wednesday, adding to the floods.

Public work crews and citizen volunteers responded to the Chic's Beach area of Virginia Beach before dawn on Monday to clean up after the mess left after the annual 'Floatopia' party (left). A total of ten tons of garbage was removed from the shore, compared to the average of one ton following a typical weekend. Video (right) of the disgusting aftermath shot by resident Melissa Noel quickly went viral after she posted it on Facebook, drawing furious reactions from locals and elected officials alike.

Thomas 'Tommy' Gilbert Jr, 34, is on trial for the murder of his father Thomas Gilbert Sr in January 2015 in a case that shocked New York's high society. He appeared in court Tuesday looking frail and thin - a stark contrast to the strapping and handsome man he once was. His mother Shelley Gilbert will testify against her son after her husband was shot while she was out getting her son a sandwich, at his request. The wealthy New York hedge fund boss had cut his son's $600 allowance by $200 and stopped paying his $2,400 a month rent. Shelley Gilbert instantly told police that she suspected her son Gilbert Jr was the killer, saying 'it was obvious he had done it'. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is slated to produce a true crime film titled Gilded Rage about Gilbert Jr and the murder of his father.

A mother whose seven-year-old daughter was raped and murdered in Michigan 52 years ago is desperately searching for a kidney donor so she can outlive her child's killer and keep fighting for him to remain locked up.  Edith 'Sammie' Siordia (left), who is battling kidney disease, has vowed to keep fighting until her last breath to ensure convicted child killer Theodore Glenn Williams (inset) never walks free. Williams, now aged 80, has been imprisoned at a psychiatric hospital for most of his adult life ever since he pleaded guilty to murdering Siordia's little girl Sonya (right) in Grand Rapids in 1967. He has launched a number of appeals in recent years so he can live out his final days outside the hospital, but Siordia insists she will continue to fight the courts to ensure it doesn't happen. Siordia, who recently learned she needs a kidney transplant because her organs are failing, said her daughter Sonya's memory inspires her to keep fighting.

In his new memoir, Baby Don't Hurt Me: Stories and Scars from Saturday Night Live, Kattan (left) accuses SNL boss Lorne Michaels of pressuring him to have sex with A Night at the Roxbury's (inset) then-director Amy Heckerling (right). The comedian, who starred alongside Will Ferrell in what is deemed to be the golden generation of SNL talent, says he initially refused but eventually ended up having sex with Heckerling in her office on what he described as the 'casting couch. I was attracted to Amy, but at the same time very afraid of the power she and Lorne wielded over my career,' said Kattan, who suffered with drug addiction following a neck injury sustained on the set of SNL.

Colorado lawyer Christopher John Kulish, 62 (pictured inset), became the 11th fatality in less than a fortnight on Monday after he suffered a heart attack descending the peak (pictured). He is believed to have fallen gravely ill after successfully reaching the 29,029-foot summit among a 'small group and no crowds'. Last week a Canadian filmmaker posted a shocking picture of a queue of people waiting to ascend the peak with a dead body in the background (main). Bottlenecks, tiredness and exhaustion, exacerbated by crowded routes and 'traffic jams' to and from the summit were previously believed to be behind the spike in deaths. But this week tour operators pointed the finger at budget companies who 'cut corners' on safety precautions.

Rudy Napier was captured on camera giving birth to her fourth child in the front seat of car (shown at left) while being driven to the hospital, in a video recorded by her young son in Henderson, Nevada on Friday. Rudy's husband Mike Anthony Addison was driving while all three of their children (shown inset with their newborn) were in the back seat when their newest addition, Jolee Lavergne Addison, decided she couldn't wait to enter the world. Rudia's calm after the birth is incredible, as she pulls Jolee to her chest and calls out to each child in the back by name, making sure to include them in the experience. Both mother Rudy and baby Jolee were given a clean bill of health are now at home with the entire family of six. Rudy is shown at right holding Jolee in Henderson Hospital.

Sahil Saini (left), who is Indian-American, found himself on the receiving end of racially charged verbal abuse in Auburn, Washington, and caught on video a white man driving a BMW (right) spewing profanities at him. Saini tweeted on May 24 that he was driving through the parking lot of a local college when he noticed the BMW riding his bumper and sped up to get away from him, which ultimately prompted the confrontation.

Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on Joe Biden after landing from Japan Tuesday - dismissing claims he had sided with Kim Jong-un by calling Obama's VP 'low IQ' and saying the North Korean dictator actually called the Democrat an 'idiot.' Trump used Twitter to say he had been 'sticking up for Sleepy Joe Biden' when he spoke derisively about the 2020 candidate while in Japan and soft-pedaled U.S. criticisms of North Korean despot Kim Jong-un. 'I was actually sticking up for Sleepy Joe Biden while on foreign soil,' Trump tweeted, about four hours after arriving back at the White House with his wife Melania. 'Kim Jong Un called him a "low IQ idiot," and many other things, whereas I related the quote of Chairman Kim as a much softer "low IQ individual." Who could possibly be upset with that?'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (inset top right) moved into Frogmore Cottage, on the grounds of the Frogmore Estate in Windsor, in early May ahead of the birth of baby Archie. Today, royal fans (bottom left) were able to wander through the grounds of Frogmore House (top), allowing them to get a glimpse into the lives of Harry and Meghan. However, despite the beauty of the gardens, several visitors commented on the sound of planes flying overhead, with some wondering how the newborn royal manages to sleep with the constant noise. With Heathrow Airport nearby, 14 flights pass within a mile of the house every thirty minutes. Although visitors passed within 20 feet of Frogmore Cottage, the royal couple weren't spotted, with some saying they tried to 'peer into' the windows.

A Utah high school has launched an investigation after footage showed a female teacher's aide sitting on a male student's lap in class.Footage recorded by a student on Friday at Granger High School in West Valley City, shows a teacher's aide sitting on a male student’s lap as she uses a computer in the classroom.The woman in the footage is a teacher's aide which is not a licensed position. She has been employed at Granger High since the beginning of the year as an hourly employee, KUTV reported.A student who is in the same year but was not in class at the time of the incident described her behavior as sickening.The student, who didn't want to be identified, said: 'The teacher was sitting on a student's lap on her computer, she acts like she really doesn't care.'I don't think she was innocent at all doing it. It's just very disruptive, and how can she even do that?. It's very sickening.'

Researchers from the University of Bristol who simulated what the world looked like to animals found that preys of the tiger like deers are effectively colourblind and only pick up on blues and greens. Therefore they view the tiger as green (above left), which helps the predator camouflage and blends into their natural environment. Humans see a tiger with its natural markings (above right).

John Fisher, 36, from Ayr, Scotland, has been drawing since he was a small boy: ‘Mainly wee dinosaurs, then doodling in my school jotters.’ On leaving school he studied graphic design, but did not pursue it as a career because, ironically, ‘it involved too much computer work and not enough personal input’. A career as a chef followed. His previous job — working weekends at his father’s bistro in the North of Scotland — involved a four-and-a-half-hour commute each way from his home in Ayr. But it left him the rest of the week to draw. Since John went full-time as an artist a couple of years ago, his success has grown. There is a regular flow of commissions thanks to his Facebook page. His works are drawn using a variety of sharp pencils on fine-grained, hot press watercolour paper. An A4-sized portrait can take John 15 hours and will sell for hundreds of pounds.

A Pennsylvania teen is fuming after his Trump Make America Great Again cap was blurred out in a photograph used in this school yearbook. Jeremy Gebhart (pictured), 16, and his friend wore red hats with the 45th president's name on it for Littlestown High School's spirit week last October. But when the yearbook was printed the student discovered that the motif with the slogan Donald Trump brought back to popularity during his 2016 election campaign had been edited out.

Sarah Jessica Parker sparked outrage by including a special mention to LGBT veterans in her tribute to fallen soldiers on Memorial Day. The Sex and the City star, 54, was criticized for encouraging division and reinforcing stereotypes with her Instagram post, (inset), on Monday.The actress, who has 5.4 million Instagram followers said: 'On this Memorial Day it is an honor to remember all our men, women, LGBT veterans who sacrificed, who gave selflessly and with grace. You have our lasting gratitude. X, SJ.'Parker, who is a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community and recently appeared at the GLAAD Awards. Fans cheered the inclusion, but others accused Parker of being too 'politically correct' by giving LGBTQ members of the military — some of whom may have identified as non-binary — a special mention.@tracybeautystylist wrote: 'Why can’t it just be everyone that served? Josh Kuipers was walking Meeka (left) down Bowery Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side on Thursday when he said Jerrod Ford (inset right) kicked the seven-pound dog in the head 'like a football'. Meeka, who just turned seven years old this week, was whimpering and crying, bleeding from her mouth and had difficulty walking afterwards, he said. According to witnesses at the scene, a crowd gathered and a number of passersby immediately rushed after the perpetrator (right). Alec Baldwin (inset left) even stopped to comfort the dog and berate the suspect, Kuipers said.

A Canadian family got a big shock when a hammerhead shark interrupted their fun in the sun during a Memorial Day boating trip. Corrine Lough was boating with her family near Florida's Anna Maria Island on Monday, intent on cooling off in the ocean, when she saw the shark's telltale profile just feet away from where their boat was floating. Lough posted the eerie video on Facebook, writing, 'When a #hammerheadshark is circling your boat, you go somewhere else to swim...'

A Rhode Island woman had a close encounter with a black bear on Tuesday after it managed to open her car door in a yard in Narragansett, near Camp Varnum. A series of images shared by Narragansett Animal Control show the black bear growing closer to the woman's car (right) before it ends up staring through her window (left), with one paw on the door and another on the window itself. The bear opened the door and the woman had to struggle to close it. She escaped unharmed.

Ava Vogel, from Edmonton, Canada, has been practising jumping for six years and trains by galloping around her house. She said: 'It all began when I was ten and started horse-riding - all of my friends would run and jump like horses between events. We would jump on the obstacle courses. So I started jumping around and then I found other pages on Instagram of people who would do this hobby. Now, three years later, here I am.' Ava says her form is similar to that of warmblood horses, as she became 'inspired' by the agility of this breed.
