Sia offers to adopt teen boy Dasani featured on HBO documentary Foster: 'You will have a home with me'

Sia has offered to take in a teenage boy featured in a harrowing documentary about Los Angeles children in foster care.

'Hey dasani from "FOSTER" on @hbo! I'd like to adopt you we're just trying to find you and get my house check done etc. but I want you to know you will have a home with me,' tweeted the 43-year-old pop artist on Memorial Day.

Dasani, 16, saw his mother's murder when he was four years old and spoke movingly in the film about 'bouncing' between group homes.

The culprit in his mother's death was her romantic partner, and Dasani wound up with a relative who in 2014 left him to the foster care system.

Lanny Wilson, Dasani's case manager at the Children's Law Center, shared in the documentary: 'When he tells the story, he says that his dad killed his mom.'

Dasani's attorney Barbara Duey explained of the relative who adopted him: 'She physically abused him. He said that the foster mother burned him - and he's got a burn mark - with an iron. She denied it.'

He is said to have been in an altercation at a group home and was then slapped with probation, requiring multiple court appearances.

A positive marijuana test, among other accusations of probation violations, landed him in juvenile detention for more than 20 days.

'If he'd been at home with two brothers and they'd got in a fight and somebody, you know, got angry and threw a book and it broke the window, you know, the three brothers would've been grounded,' remarked an exasperated Barbara.

'But our kid gets thrown in jail and charged with felony, and I see this over and over and over, and it's just so unfair.'

Dasani has developed a knack for rap, and can be seen in the documentary performing in court at the request of the judge.

Foster is directed by Mark Jonathan Harris, who won an Oscar for his 2000 documentary Into The Arms Of Strangers - Stories Of The Kindertransport.

Sia, who joined show business as a teenager and recently helped Dance Moms child star Maddie Ziegler build her career, has no children of her own.

The Australian singer-songwriter has dated Le Tigre's JD Simpson and was married to documentarian Erik Anders Lang for two years before they split in 2016.
