She reasoned: 'I think it's time to say goodbye to Sansa. I'm ready... ish, to say goodbye to her. I think my watch has ended.

'It's been 10 years of my life and the best 10 years of my life by far. I finished in a very happy place with Sansa and it's time to let her go. I feel like if I played her again it would be just be more trauma.'

Earlier in the day, Sophie touched down in Beijing alongside her X-Men: Dark Phoenix co-stars Michael Fassbender and Tye Sheridan and company.

Opting for casual-comfort, the newly minted Mrs. Joe Jonas paired the revealing crop top with grey sweatpants and white sneakers.

She also donned spectacles and wore her blonde tresses long and wavy with a part to the slight left.

Judging from the big beaming smile on her face, Turner appeared to be in great spirits as she and her work mates were being led by a group of locals.

Fassbender, who plays powerful mutant Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto in the film, looked casual-cool in his black ensemble that included a zipper-down jacket, t-shirt and brown newsboy hat.

While Sheridan, 22, appeared to be getting lots of attention from the entourage and fans dressed in blue denim jeans with a plaid shirt over a grey t-shirt and a baseball cap.

He portrays mutant Scott Summers/Cyclops, who develops a relationship with Turner's character, Jean Grey.

The film's star-studded cast also includes the likes of James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Evan Peters and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Set in 1992, nearly a decade after the events of X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men are national heroes who regularly go on increasingly risky missions.

Turner's Jean Grey is the central of the film. She loses control of her abilities and unleashes the Phoenix after a solar flare hits the group during a rescue mission in space.

It was recently revealed that X-Men: Dark Phoenix changed after reshoots to give the film a totally different ending.

Franchise producer Hutch Parker revealed the team's decision to switch the conclusion to the movie which saw its release date pushed back from November 2018 to this month.

He told Digital Spy: 'There was more of a cosmic story... the story ended in space in a much more significant way.

'We actually shifted that to be back on Earth, most notably, so that we can involve our main characters and see them come together.'

Parker explained that they felt the need to have Turner's character surrounded by her 'family', which wasn't as easy to accomplish with a space setting for the final scenes.

He said: 'We wanted the family to be the thing that motivated Jean to finally embrace her identity, and finally, to allow love to be what allows her to transcend and evolve.

'But in the first iteration, they weren't present when she's going through a lot of the third act stuff.

'So we rejigged it so that we could dramatise the degree to which this divided family had come back together for her... that she could witness that, and, and bring [Jessica] Chastain into that sequence.'

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to be released June 5 in the UK and June 7 in the US.
