Danielle Lloyd sparks outrage among parents as mother-of-four asserts homework should be BANNED and she does all of her children's work

Danielle Lloyd sparked outrage on Thursday when she insisted homework should be banned and that she does all of her children's work anyway.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, the mother-of-four claimed homework wasn't relevant and admitted she has often been left making the models for her children's history projects.

However, 35-year-old Danielle's controversial comments caused a stir on social media as she faced a backlash for demanding homework should be abolished.

Among the reaction, one fan wrote: '#gmb Danielle Lloyd’s a prime example of why kids SHOULD do homework! Listen to this woman for god sake.

'Kids need discipline, boundaries & to be taught good habits so they become hardworking, nice people. There’s plenty of time to play too! (Mum of a happy balanced teenager).'

Model Danielle went head-to-head with Katherine Birbalsingh, who has been dubbed Britain's strictest headteacher, in the heated debate.

She said: 'They come home with loads of maths and history homework and projects. I'm the one who gets left to make these models.

'When they come home and do history and stuff, I just don't think it's really relevant.'

The beauty pageant winner questioned the 'point' behind the exercises as she insisted children should be allowed to be 'just kids'.

Danielle did, however, say a little bit of spelling or math homework could be useful for a child's development at school.

She went on: 'My kids come home with so much homework at such a young age. I think they should just be allowed to be kids.

'In the schools, the teachers should do their jobs and when the kids should come home and enjoy themselves and be happy.

'What's the point in coming home with all these exercises? I agree about maybe doing a little bit of spelling or maths, but these projects about history...'

In a counter argument, Katherine fought teachers 'absolutely' need to set homework to test whether the child has understood what they have learnt during school hours.

She argued: 'It is absolutely the case that schools need to set homework that is practice of what has been done at school.'

Parents at home had their say on social media as the majority of people hitting out at Danielle for her controversial comments.

'Danielle Lloyd on #GMB confessing she does her kids’ homework is just asking for them to now get double the amount.' One person criticised.

Others added: 'Danielle Lloyd is advocating less homework and talking about how graduates can’t get jobs. Some people have to work hard in their lives to get where they are instead of eating pringles.'

'My autistic son would not be at university now without persevering with homework at home. It was a really hard battle with many meltdowns but in developing an after school work habit he learned the skills he needed to study independently.'

'No homework at home likely only works when having unstructured time at home is better than not. Case in point is having good humans (for student, not good for world) around at home in good situations. In London, most people are in poor situations or are bad humans.'

'I’m not sure Danielle Lloyd was a great choice for arguing why kids shouldn’t have homework thia morning on #GMB - she actually said she didn’t think HISTORY homework was important. Lest you forget #Daniellelloyd....lest you forget!'

However, some people pointed out they didn't think it was essential for children to do homework as they had got on well after school without completing their own work.

Among the tweets, one wrote: '@GMB the argument for homework is rubbish I rarely did my homework in school and my highest grade was a c which was in art but it doesn’t effect job aspects as I am now working as a human resource advisor - looking back at home work this stuff wouldn’t have helped me now.'
