Sting looked a little fed-up as he watched the tennis at the Roland Garros French Open in Paris on Thursday. 

The musician pulled a series of quizzical expressions as he watched the Novak Djokovic vs Henri Laaksonen game with a male companion, at one point slumping down in his seat.

Sting, real name Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, cut a casual look for the occasion in a white jumper, with an orange and black striped T-shirt underneath.

The Police icon teamed the ensemble with funky black and white patterned trousers, a baker boy hat and glasses. 

The silver fox appeared tense and unimpressed by the match, although was later spotted cheering on the likes of Serena Williams and Novac Djokovic.

Thursday's game also saw Serena, 37, secure a straight-sets victory over Kurumi Nara, 27, in 67 minutes to reach the third round of the French Open.

Sting's outing's are no doubt a welcome break for the performer, who kicked off his 44/876 tour earlier this month, alongside unlikely collaborator Shaggy. 

The singer was seen rocking the stage on the Manchester leg of their tour at the O2 Apollo on Saturday.

He and his counterpart, 50, put on a fantastic show for fans, ensuring it was a performance to remember.

Sting and Shaggy's album finds the former re-shaping and re-imagining some of his biggest hits, from Every Breath You Take to If You Love Somebody Set Them Free.

Discussing the songs, Sting said: 'We weren't treating the original recordings as holy relics or museum pieces... we were just having fun with the songs.

Sting added that his voice is now 'different to what it was 30, 40 years ago. It has more texture, a richness to it.'
