She's known for her impeccable style, and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark gave a masterclass in understated elegance as she stepped out for her latest engagement.

The Crown Princess of Denmark wore a Proenza Schouler light blue blouse - now sold out - but kept out the chill with a cornflower blue coat.

The Danish royal, 47, was visiting Care Line Sorglinjen at The National Care Centre in Copenhagen, a new helpline for adults who have been bereaved.

She accessorised her outfit with a cream tote bag, minimal jewellery and natural make-up with a glossy lip.

Upon arrival, Mary met and shook hands with volunteers before she entered the building.

She was presented with a bouquet of spring flowers which she was seen carrying out to her car when she later exited, with her coat over her arm.

Mary has been the Grief Centre's patron since its inauguration in August 2017. The initiative was born from the Children, Youth & Grief Foundation of which the Crown Princess has been the patron since 2013.

The Foundation aims to give psychological support to children and adolescents, while the Grief Centre extended its services to adults.

The Grief Centre offers counselling to families and friends who have experienced the death of a loved one. It also acts as a research centre on grief across all age groups.

It aims to offer the best care possible to bereaved people. It also tackles mental health issues and offers specialised training to care professionals.

The grief helpline hopes to connect volunteers and those in need of support. TrygFonden, a foundation which worked on the line, announced that new guidelines to tackle long-lasting grief will also be introduced nationwide.

The issue is dear to Mary's heart. In 2017, she revealed she was still struggling to deal with the death of her mother, who passed away when she was 26.

'It happened too early […] It’s so hard to see when it is so close and so personal, but as you get older, you learn to appreciate the time you had together as a gift,' she said in her inaugural speech.

'And the loss offers something that you wouldn’t have otherwise. It makes a strong person.'
