While Don Jr was busy in Manhattan, his girlfriend former Fox host Kimberly Guilfoyle spoke on immigration on CNN.

President Trump warned Mexico of a five percent tariff per month on all goods entering the United States unless Mexico tackles illegal immigration in a bombshell announcement Thursday evening.

'On June 10th, the United States will impose a 5% Tariff on all goods coming into our Country from Mexico, until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP,' Trump tweeted Thursday.

And that’s not just a one time tariff hike – he’s threatening a five percent tariff increase each month.

Guilfoyle, who has been named Trump’s senior adviser for his 2020 presidential campaign, defended the hike speaking on Cuomo Prime time on CNN Thursday night saying the country has reached a 'crisis point.'

'Mexico is one of our economic partners. Bear some of the responsibilities, have some skin in the game. Why is it always that the United States is disproportionally affected with other people not doing their fair share?' she said.

'This is in sound keeping with the president’s policy of being tough on immigration, border security – really securing it so we don’t have these porous borders where people are coming over.

'Having worked as a prosecutor for many years in San Francisco, which is a sanctuary city, and in Los Angeles I saw all too well the real problem of people coming in. Criminal recidivism with records, multiple times deported and coming back in and committing crimes,' she added.

The tariffs will start at 5 percent on June 10 before jumping to 10 percent on July 1, 15 percent on August 1, 20 percent on September 1 and go up to 25 percent on October 1 unless Mexico takes steps to stop the surge.
