He's never shied away from showing off his gym-honed body in shirtless scenes.

But Chris Hemsworth has admitted his wife of nine years, Elsa Pataky, isn't quite so thrilled about seeing him strip off onscreen.

'She's just sick of it. She's like just, 'Put your clothes on'', the 35-year-old Thor star joked on the Kyle And Jackie O Show on Tuesday.

Chris added, laughing: 'It's not nearly as exciting for her. Or at all.'

Hemsworth was asked about Elsa's reaction to his shirtless scenes, when he explained that there's some 'stripping' in his latest film, Down Under Cover.

'It has an action comedy heist kind of vibe, there's some male stripping going on,' the Australian actor said.

The Paramount film reportedly sees Chris and Tiffany Haddish's characters investigating a group of Australian male erotic dancers involved in casino heists.

Chris showed off his muscular physique while playing a superhero in the Thor franchise, as well as a charismatic cult leader in Bad Times At The El Royale.

However the actor, who has three children with Elsa, 42, admitted he was reluctant to take his shirt off for Thor: Ragnarak.

'Ken Branagh came up to me on the first film [Thor] and said, 'Oh look, I've got this shirt off scene, how do you feel?'' Chris told Associated Press in 2017.

'I was like, 'Oh man, I've been working out for eight months; I'm ready, let's go.''

He went on: 'And this time around [for Thor Ragnarak], there wasn't one in the script, which I was really happy about, and then Taika [Waititi, the film's director] said, 'No, I think we need a shirt off scene.'

'I was like, 'Ugh, no we've done that. Don't make me do it again!' I just think it has to be different each time. You have an obligation to mix it up and advance it in some way.'

Elsewhere in his interview with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson, Chris admitted he had turned Matt Damon into a Byron Bay hipster.

Kyle accused the actor of taking Matt away from his Hollywood career and 'derailing him'.

The radio host exclaimed: 'You've derailed him [Matt]! You've turned him into some Southern New South Wales hippie!'

Chris replied dryly: 'That was intentional - he was my competition!'

Matt and his family have spent several months holidaying in Byron Bay with Chris and his clan in the last two years.
