Bravo star Lisa Vanderpump is using her platform to help save lives.

The business mogul has been a longtime advocate for the LGBTQ community and has worked with The Trevor Project for years, most recently partnering with them for a new powerful public service announcement.

Lisa sat down with DailyMailTV to open up about the cause that is so dear to her heart and also dropped the bombshell that she's not returning to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and will be skipping the reunion.

Suicide has touched Lisa's life personally. Last year her beloved brother Mark took his own life and the reality star grieved the loss as cameras rolled for the RHOBH.

Lisa's new PSA with The Trevor Project, an organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention to youths in the LGBTQ community, is all about bringing awareness.

'It's something that we should talk to our children about, especially our LGBTQ youth,' Lisa said. 'They're four or five times more likely to take their own lives and that is a statistic that I would say is unacceptable.'

Those staggering stats are something that Lisa and The Trevor Project are working tirelessly to combat by throwing a lifeline to those in crisis.

'I know how important it is for LGBTQ youth to get the support they deserve,' she says in the PSA. 'The Trevor Project is always here for you 24/7.'

Last year alone, the organization served over 68,000 calls, texts, and chats from LGBTQ youth in crisis and they, along with Lisa, strive to do more.

'I think with celebrity, and I use that word loosely, a responsibility comes with supporting your causes,' Lisa explained.

Aside from her work as an advocate for the LGBTQ community, Lisa also operates the Vanderpump Dog Foundation which recently found loving forever homes for 1,000 dogs.

'A lot of people really feel that they're at the end of their tether,' Lisa told DailyMailTV. 'If you ever get to that position ... there's somebody there that wants to talk to you - and kind of talk you down form the ledge.'

Helping those in need is something that the Vanderpump Rules star has always been passionate about and she seemed to have doubled her efforts in the wake of her brother's death.

'I have an understanding [of] the devastation that radiates through a family,' she said.

'A lot of people really feel that they're at the end of their tether,' Lisa continued. 'If you ever get to that position ... there's somebody there that wants to talk to you - and kind of talk you down form the ledge.'

'Together, we can build a future where every LGBTQ young person knows they are valid, loved, and worthy of dignity.'

Lisa told DailyMailTV that she was grateful that Bravo helped her shine a light on her causes and added that she feels it's not only important to be able to discuss topics like suicide, it is even more important to show that there is help available.

In this past season, the 58-year-old star not only dealt with her brother's death as filming began, but she was at odds with the rest of the cast.

Her fellow housewives accused her repeatedly of lying to them about negative stories that were leaked to the press.

The debacle began when a rescue pup from Vanderpump Dogs that was adopted by Dorit Kemsley ended up in a kill shelter after she re-homed it with a friend who gave it up.

This turned out to be the second dog that Dorit had given up after it was adopted from Vanderpump- the other dog was returned.

Lisa even went so far as to take a lie detector test to prove she didn't leak the story.

'PuppyGate' as the scandal became known was the start of Lisa's relationships on the show crumbling - she even kicked her former close friend Kyle Richards out of her home in one episode.

'The reunion is coming up are you going?' DailyMailTV asked Lisa during their recent chat.

'The objective of the reunion is to reunite, right? And I have no inclination to reunite with the women who've been harassing me for 10 months now.' Lisa admitted.

Adding: 'So in all probability, no.'

The question was looming as to what that meant for Lisa's future on the franchise and for months fans have wondered if she is going to return for another season.

DailyMailTV asked: 'Does this factor into what you're going to do next season? Are you coming back to the Housewives?'

Lisa was hesitant to respond and simply sighed deeply.

Along with Kyle Richards, Lisa is the only other castmember who's been on the show since the first season and the series is currently airing season nine.

Pressing her, DailyMailTV questioned: 'Do you feel like you want to continue on?'

Quickly she got back on task: 'Let's talk about The Trevor Project.'

Vanderpump's new PSA for the organization comes just as Pride kicks off and this week the star is also receiving a legacy award for her work with the LGBTQ community.
