The show's creator Liz Feldman recently told the Hollywood Reporter that all may not be as it seems, saying: 'I'll just say that you don't know that she shot him.'

'Netflix will have to order a season two for us all to find out. Just like the rest of the show, it's not exactly what you think it's going to be.'

The producers didn't expect to kill off Steve however as the writing process evolved Liz claimed that they felt like it 'needed to happen' and it 'made so much sense'.

Just before Steve's death it is revealed that it was Judy who killed Jen's husband in the hit-and-run and attempted to cover it up by forcing her way into Jen's life.
