The highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, isn't set for release until next year.

But fans are now getting a good look at the heroine's modern evolution, courtesy of Gal Gadot's Instagram.

The Israeli beauty, 34, made it clear the Amazonian adventurer was ready for anything in the technicolor teaser for the DC character's latest outing.

The shot, which was first unveiled on director Patty Jenkins' Instagram, showed Diana clad in a shining suit molded to her body with bridges of raised metal running down the center.

Below, the hero was wrapped in tight patterned leggings under tough leg armor.

Wonder Woman's new look isn't novel for old fans of the comic book saga.

According to DC aficionados, the armor looks like it was inspired by the 'Golden Eagle' getup the character has donned in the comics in the past.

Wonder Woman has gone through more than a few iterations since her time onscreen began back in the 70s, with the Cathy Lee Crosby-fronted 1974 made-for-TV movie. During the era, the character also appeared in Hanna-Barbera's long-running animated series Super Friends.

Wonder Woman 1984 will pick up decades after the hero's adventures in Europe during World War I.

In addition to new surroundings, Diana will face off against new villains.

The comic talent is set to transform into Cheetah, AKA Barbara Minerva, a feline-inspired baddie with cat-like reflexes and superhuman agility.

And while Wonder Woman already has a ready-made fan base, earning a whopping $412million domestically for the 2017 outing, the 80s-centric follow-up won't be a straight-up 'sequel.'

Talking to Vulture back in March, producer Charles Roven said Jenkins bristled at the term, telling the site: 'She was just determined that this movie should be the next iteration of Wonder Woman but not a sequel,' adding: 'And she’s definitely delivering on that.'

And fans will have to be patient for the not-sequel. Wonder Woman 1984 won't come out until June 5 1984.
