  • Las Vegas residents Sunhe, 50, and Angelica, 30, sleep in the same bed, bathe in the same water, and consult each other over significant others
  • Florida natives Dawn, 59, and Cher, 28, dress alike, call each other multiple times every day, and say they're like 'twins'
  • Kathy, 59, and Cristina, 30, live just five doors away from each other in Chicago and refer to each other as 'husbands'
  • Sandra, 44, and Mariah, 20, go on double dates together, go clubbing, and live live like 'college students' in Los Angeles
  • All four duos star int he new reality TV series, which is set to premiere on Sunday at 10pm on TLC

A brand new reality TV series coming to TLC highlights the incredibly — and possibly unhealthily — close relationships between some mothers and their adult daughters.

Premiering on Sunday at 10pm, sMothered follows four sets of moms and their grown daughters, all of whom share an unusually tight-knit bond with each other.

And it goes beyond just referring to one another as 'best friends': One mother-daughter-duo like to dress alike, another go on double-dates together, and a third even go so far as to the same bed and bathwater.

On TV: Angelica (L), 30, and Sunhe (R), 50, are two stars of the new TLC reality show sMothered

Sunhe and Angelica

Las Vegas natives Sunhe, 50, and her 30-year-old daughter Angelica are so close to one another that they sleep in the same bed.

The pair have never lived apart, except when Angelica went to college in Virginia — and even then, Sunhe moved to Georgia to be closer to her, and drove six hours every two weeks for visits.

'People want to find something wrong in a relationship when they don’t understand it,' Angelica told the New York Post. 'But my mom and I are close. There’s nothing wrong with it.'

There closeness goes so far that the pair will even bathe in the same tub without draining it first.

'If the water is still hot, we will share the bathwater,' Angelica said in a trailer for the show.

Sunhe, who has a long-distance fiancé who lives in Nebraska, added: 'If I could find a man version of Angelica I would marry them in a heartbeat.'

Co-dependent: The two have agreed that if one doesn't like the other's significant other, they won't stay in the relationship

Uh-oh: Their relationship has come in the way of Angelica's relationship with her boyfriend, who wants to take it to the next level — but doesn't have Sunhe's approval

Angelica, though, has found a man — and her relationship with her mom has come in the way since her boyfriend has begun to want to take their romance to the next level.

In the show's trailer, Angelica's boyfriend is seen speaking to Sunhe about progressing his relationship with Angelica — but it is clear that she doesn't approve.

'I have the strongest influence in her life and without my blessing I doubt that she'll take it to the next step with you,' says Sunhe, who regularly goes out on dates with the couple.

'We always have an agreement,' Sunshe told the Post. 'If Angelica didn’t like my dating partner, and vice versa with her, we generally did not stay in that relationship.'

Too far? Dawn (L), 59, and Cher (R), 28, are so close to each other despite the fact that they no longer live together, as Dawn lives in Florida and Cher moved to New York with her husband

Too far? Dawn (L), 59, and Cher (R), 28, are so close to each other despite the fact that they no longer live together, as Dawn lives in Florida and Cher moved to New York with her husband

From birth: 'From the time that she was an infant, I felt that she was going to be my very best friend,' Dawn said

Dawn and Cher

It isn't the first time mother-daughter duo Dawn, 59, and Cher, 28, have graced TV screens: The pair appeared on MTV's My Super Sweet 16 back in 2007 when Cher celebrated her milestone birthday with an over-the-top party.

In the episode, the then-high school student admitted that she and her mother were 'best friends' and that the pair 'do pretty much everything together.'

Now, 12 years later, they're still incredibly tight — despite the fact that Dawn lives in Florida and Cher moved to New York after she married her college boyfriend.

The pair call each other several times every day, and when they're together, they 'act alike and dress alike' — despite their 31-year age gap.

'From the time that she was an infant, I felt that she was going to be my very best friend,' Dawn says in a trailer. 'I made her grow up maybe a little earlier than a girl would grow up, because I would talk to her about everything.'

Cher agreed, adding: 'I only wanted to play with her, I never had as much fun playing with other people. She would wake me up in the morning to get ready for school and say, "You wanna play hooky?" And I'd say, "Yes!"

'And then she would take me for a full girls' day and we would go shopping, or do our nails, or go to lunch. and then we'd come home and you know, my dad would say, "So how was school today?" and I'd be like, "It was great!"'

Tight: They even have their own special handshake, and the longest they've gone without speaking to one another is 'maybe a few hours,' says Cher

Third wheel: Cher's husband said it was 'overwhelming at first to deal with Cher and Dawn together'

'We have this connection that is very strange,' Dawn chimes in. 'It's like twins!'

Both married doctors — at 23 and 22 — and love to go shopping and do makeup together. They even have their own special handshake, and the longest they've gone without speaking to one another is 'maybe a few hours,' says Cher.

That closeness hasn't always been easy for Cher's husband, Jared.

'It was definitely overwhelming at first to deal with Cher and Dawn together, 'cause when they're together, especially in the beginning, I felt like I was the third wheel.'

During this season of sMothered, Cher struggles with when and how she will tell her mother that she is pregnant.

Her husband wants to keep the exciting news a secret and tell their entire extended family all at once, but Cher wants to let her mother know the good news before anyone else finds out.

The 28-year-old is left in a predicament that will see her upsetting either her mother or her husband.

Kathy and Cristina

Kathy, 59, and Cristina, 33, describe themselves as 'trashy Italians.' The two women, who jokingly refer to each other as one another's 'husbands,' live five houses away from each other in the Chicago area.

Cristina is a stay-at-home mother who takes care of her children while her husband goes to work.

Kathy regularly helps Cristina raise her children, and the pair spend the majority of their time together.

Cristina even admits that she seeks household help from her mom before asking her husband.

However, Cristina's husband and sister don't understand the bizarre mother-daughter relationship, which also involves them supporting each other when they get cosmetic surgery.

Odd: Kathy said: 'I know it sounds sick, but it's the way we live. We're just so nosy… We have to know everything'

They believe it is abnormal that they are so close.

Cristina told the Post that her relationship with her mom is significantly more tight-knit than her relationship with her husband.

'If something happens, I'll tell [my mom] first,' she said. 'He'll be like, "Wait, you already told your mom? I wasn't your first phone call?" So I think sometimes it bothers him. But he's learned to adjust.'

And it seems like the relationship often gets too much for Kathy and Cristina, too, as they argue over the fact that they check up on each other too often.

Kathy said: 'If her car isn't in the driveway, I'm like, "Where did she go that she didn't tell me? Where is she?" I know it sounds sick, but it's the way we live. We're just so nosy… We have to know everything.'

Sandra and Mariah

Sandra, 20, and her mother Mariah, 44, live in Los Angeles.  The duo admit that, despite their 24 age difference, they live like college students.

They both dress like the Kardashians, go on double dates together and even go out to nightclubs and parties together.

Mariah and Sandra also go on regular vacations together and have admitted to getting mother-daughter boob jobs.

However, conflict arises when the pair go to Las Vegas to celebrate Mariah's milestone 21st birthday, as her friends feel uncomfortable that Sandra is there.
